I find that a curling wand works best and curl your hair into quite tight ringlets and then brush through until you get them how lose you'd like them to be :)

Question, I have heard multiple hairstylist recommend that when using a curling iron to not clamp your hair in, so listening to them is there really a difference between a curling iron and a curling wand? It doesn't seem like it to me, but I honestly barely even touch my curling iron, I tend to use my straightener for curling.
