I have oily skin too. I tried lots of lotions and creams but they dident show many results. So i decided to stop using dem and instead started to use creams for normal skin and it worked! I recommend bebe young care cream for normal skin its not expensive. And try to go easy on the scrubing it can trigger breakouts even more! And if you got a really big breakout try tee trea oil it should calm the skin down. Good luck :)

You're most likely overdoing it. If you constantly aggravate your skin and dry it out, it will produce more oil to compensate and the irritation/stress will contribute to your breakouts. Switch to a gentle exfoliant that you can use every day without irritating your skin and stripping it, cleanse with nothing but hot water and a wash cloth in the morning, and use a calming moisturizer. Only apply salicylic acid at night and ONLY over the spots where you're currently breaking out, not your whole face.

keep moisturizing. oily skin is oily because its compensating for the lack of moisture your skin produces or is given. drink water consistently throughout each day and find a lightweight moisturizer to use. my favorite that I swear by is by Fresh. it doesnt clog my pores and keeps my skin great all day. additionally. ..check to see if your shampoos or any other porducts you use on or around your face for any type of alcohol in the ingredients. those products could be exacerbating your oily skin

I have combination skin and suffer badly with oily skin on my cheeks, around my nostrils (LOL) and sometimes my forehead.
Tips that help:
Exfoliate the skin - LUSH does a great one in which is called salt scrub it will remove dead skin cells and will remove the oil.
Nivea is a great range for oily skin, cleanse and clear too so try them out. Montagne Jeunesse do face masks which helps remove oil from the skin and there cheap! LUSH do fantastic face masks if you have a shop near you ask them which one they would recommend.
If you find your skin is still oily miss out moisturising for a bit, prevent touching your face with your fingers as bacteria from your hands will go onto your face clogging pores and any oils on your fingers will end up on your face.
You will just have to experiment with products and find out which ones work for you that's what I had todo /:
Proactive is quite good however VERY pricey!

Salicylic acid is great at preventing blackheads, if you have actual pimples, add benzoyl peroxide which kills the pimple causing bacteria. For oily skin, don't use heavy moisturizer, use one that is light weight, or just use serum as your moisturizer.

Drink lots of water. Don't exfoliate too much as your skin might be drying out. Which might be resulting in an overcompensation of oil.
Try body shops t tree range. It's excellent and the only product I will use to banish blemishes.

What about while wearing make up? Are there any products you gals use if your skin starts to oil up? I used to use absorbent sheets but they smudge

I use clean & clear oil blotting sheets and they work great! no smudging. I also use corn starch as face powder. just dust a very light amount on the oily areas ontop of foundation and it absorbs oil for hours!
