So on Friday January 25 2013 we got this Blue Quaker parrot for my dads birthday and the birds name was Manny. He is 7 months old and we got him from Jack's pets. He was 600 dollars and his cage was 400 so my mom basically paid 1000 dollars for Manny. When we bought the bird he came with a 60 day guarante just in case it didn't work out and we needed to return him and he also came with a free vet visit within the first 5 days of purchase. We also have a jack russel terrior and her name is savannah. She's 7 years old so we brought manny home and savannah thought he was a chew toy so she snapped at him and tried to eat him. But within the first 2 days she started to learn that he was a friend not food. So we took manny to the free vet visit yesterday and the vet said he was perfectly fine healthy and a well socialist bird. And manny like to poop on people all the time. So I played with manny all the time since we got him and every day we would try to get him to talk like we would say good morning manny goodnight manny pretty boy and last night I said goodnight manny I love you and that's the last time I saw him. At night we cover up his cage with 2 blankets to keep him warm and this morning before I went to school I saw his cage wrapped up in blankets and I said good morning manny I love you. And I went off to school. So I came home about 245 and I expected to see mannys cage in the corner were it always is I saw my grandma and my dad sitting there and my grandma asked my dad to mute the tv and they asked where my sister was and I said she's coming so they tell us to sit down and my dad says that my grandma unwrapped his cage this morning and found manny dead at the bottom of his cage . We don't know what happened because the vet said he was perfectly fine so we took dead manny back to jacks because he had a 50 day guarante and there gonna find out what caused his death. My whole family has been crying all day and I've been crying since 245 and I'm still crying as I'm writing this. I need someone to talk to I've never list a pet before is it ok if I cry? Can I please tal to somebody?

of course its ok to cry sweetie.im 26 and cried when my hamster died.how about u go n speak to ur mum or sis and get a cuddle and have a chat.ull feel alot better

oh emilee im sorry to hear of yor loss i was 32 when my beloved cat died and i cried for days all i can say is it will get easier day by day and maybe manny had an undiagnoised condition that not even the vet knew about hopefully the pet shop will find out wot happened big hugs to u

They checked his poop for parasites and he had none and they swabbed his mouth for bacteria and he had none

Of course you can cry! I lost my beloved dog sugar ( I had had her my whole life) last February and I still miss her. she was the most amazing dog ever, so smart and sweet. She was a Labrador retriever.

yes its normal to feel sad bcuz u were attached to it and quickly lost him...sorry about that...well i had 1 parakeet and it was in a cage i couldnt bare to see it lonely and i felt bad that i hav it caged. so i let it go couple of days later...i felt good that i did that but i was sad at the same time

Sorry to hear about your bird. I lost my dog in Oct, I had him for 15 yrs. I still cry sometimes. It's ok to cry.

No the blankets weren't heavy ad he couldn't have suffocated because he slept like that for four days and nothing happend

its sad but sounds like it was just one of those things.sometimes theres no reason.hearts can just stop if the signal comes from the brain etc.cldve been anything.it doesnt sound at all like u did anything wrng so dnt worry about that side of things.xx
