so I wanna do the ombre on my hair by myself ( I know this is probably not the best idea) . but my hair is realllllllly dark. so I went out and bought a blonde professional dye by salerm and I didnt get developer because I already had developer home. BUT it was 20 vol not 40 so it didn't do anything to my hair.. should I just keep the 20 vol developer and go out and buy a bleach kit or should I keep the hair dye and buy 40 vol developer?

bleach will burn the texture of ur hair....BEWARE...
GO FOR THE SECOND ONE coz if u dye ur hair u can use color protectant which will care but sheild ur hair from other damages.
all is up to ur choice...

you should try the 40 developer and if you still didnt achieve the look you might want try a lightner.

I'm sure u will get the look your going for with a 40 developer!!! That's way too harsh for your hair! Seriously Go get it done professionally! 20 plus 40 is gonna make your hair fall out!not kidding
