If you think your hair is too thick for it, try getting a sock that matches the colour of your hair, cut the end off the sock, and roll it onto the donut, that should make it easier if you have thick hair :)

You could try getting a larger one, that helped with my hair as it is also quite thick! Just think of it as a very big bobble! Tie your hair into a simple pony tail to the height you want it (normally quite high) then place your hair through the doghnut so it sits on top of your head, then part the hair over the doghnut so you cant see any of it carefully place another bobble over this to secure the hair ( i usually use two too bobbles to secure properly) you will then be left with bits if hair sticking out around the base of the bun, normally i would just use pins to pin the hair into place around the botton but some people use another hair tie after wrapping around excess hair at the base then adding another tie over abd using pins for any strays! Light bit of hairspray and you should be good to go! Hope this helps! :)
