What color of highlights look great with dark hair!?

I want to get highlights but I'm not sure what colors go good with dark hair. plus I never really do much with my hair besides a hair cut and getting my bangs trimmed! I want something new! :)

You could go for blonde for a drastic change or caramel for something subtle
