Has anyone tried accutane, if so did it work and how long till you saw results?

I've heard that they are dangerous. Try Natural pills. Look for Michaels Skin Factor no side effects and you will see results in less than a month

I'm going on it in march. The side effects are some what severe but leaves no long term effect. They say it takes about two months to see results. You go on for 6 months n you never get another pimple I'm your life. Sounds to good to be true

My fiancé took accutane. He made him really depressed and he said he felt crazy. Something he sad he'd never take again. I've heard other horror stories about that stuff. There's way more options out there.

Accutane is incredibly potent. It's a large dose of vitamin A which is why it can cause psychological symptoms, major birth defects, and evidently they have now linked it to Chrons Disease along with other issues. I refused to take it when I had acne and went a different a way but to each is own.

I have used accutane and I had dried lips, but after 4 years my acne came back and it was worse. I am currently using an all natural acne treatment called acnease you should try it.

Wow, I had no idea that so many people had a negative experience with this. I started taking it in October (sadly I had to take a low dosage because its summer here!) and I've just started seeing some great results. My worst side effects are dry lips, but if I apply lip balm a few times a day its not a problem. Two of my friends used it too, and they had quick results (one within 3 weeks, and the other one within 2 months) and few side effects. I think you should try it out and see how it works for you; there's really no way of telling how each person will respond to it. There are a lot of side effects, but you probably won't get most of them!

It completely saved my self esteem and gave me my life back. While it's certainly NOT true that you'll never have another breakout, 2 years after finishing a 7 month course I very rarely break out. When I do, it's small and never the horrible cystic kind I had before. I also only have them on my face: my back and chest have never had a single blemish since month 2 of the treatment course. The side effects for me were horrible: my lips were so dry they bled, and the skin of my face and upper body was always painfully dry and itchy. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. The results have been more than worth it for me.

The acne has a to be pretty severe in most cases in order for a Dr. to even consider putting you on ISO anymore. It is pretty serious stuff as you will have to go through blood tests prior and during, be on the BC pill and usually will have to take a pregnancy test prior as well. The side effects can be quite serious. Like depression... but I'm sure living with such severe acne that is lowering your self esteem probably would make you more depressed really! It can be hard on your liver... but really most script drugs are. I hear commonly that Dr's are typically prescribing lower doses having you be on accutane for a longer time period which seems to work out really well. However you'll still need to carry that chapstick around everywhere ya go!

Hi im on accutane now, im around 2 1/2 months in taking 50mg per day which is the maximum amount for my weight and my side effects are very mild and my skin has improved! when i first started the treatment i noticed that my skin became dry very quickly but i just used a lotion from the doctors called Dermol and its antimicrobial so it prevents bacteria.its oil free too which is important. I stil wear my makeup everyday (Clinique is best for my sensitive skin) .I use simple face wipes to get my eye makeup off then i use Clinique take the day off balm to remove the rest of my slap and follow by cleansing and moisturising with the Dermol lotion. For my lips I use clinique all about lips to get the flaky skin off then i apply vaseline. The tablets made me feel sick for the first few days but it settled once my bidy got used to it. Good luck and talk to your derm if your worried. My cousin had awful cystic ance everywhere and he went on accutane and now his skin is perfect and hes got a new confident personality. Sorry for rambling on lol x

I took Accutane for about a year. Personally, it wasn't worth the trouble. Having clear skin is kind of pointless if you're depressed and never want to socialize. Also, about a year after stopping my acne returned. Granted, it's not as bad as before, but I still struggle with it every day.
Everyone is different, but my skin started to really improve about 3 weeks after starting.

DONT DO IT! its a horribly strong medicine that has more cons then pros in my opinion. my derma wanted me to go on it and i was told if i go on it that'd id have to draw blood EVERY MONTH (i have a needle phobia) , makes you depressed, suicidal thoughts etc. There are other ways to become acne free that dont involve messing with your happiness and frame of mind.
Try birth control it has a very effective background when it comes to clearing up acne. You can also try cutting out dairy from your diet because dairy has hormones as well. Hope this helps :]

They have proven that accutane isn't actually linked with depression, and that it actually boosts kids moods. Liver problems are usually caused because you aren't supposed to drink alcohol on accutane and you're supposed to have blood tests and stuff done every month to check on your liver and stuff. They won't put you on it unless you have severe or cystic acne. I start it in a little under a month however my older sister uses it and she had bad cystic acne and she's on month 4 and it's gone now! I say it's worth it.
