How is the beauty blender not just a regular sponge?? I don't understand the craze about it. Does it really maje a difference and what do you use it for?

Latex wedge does the same exact job for me as a beauty blender. I have both and I notice a zero difference between the two.

I know! There was a sponge at sephora that looked similiar to it for $3. What is your opinion on brush vs sponge.
