I tried the olay pro x version of the Clarisonic and it broke me out badly. I figured it was just purging, but it never got better. I want to get a Clarisonic Mia, but I'm afraid of spending all that money to only end up with the same results. opinions?

In my opinion if you had tbat reaction with the olay pro x then I wouldn't get it. Your skin could be very sensative to those and so I wouldn't chance it. I would had to spend all that money to only have the same reaction.

Did you ever go through a purging stage?

I recently purchased the Mia and I looove it. The girl said not to bother with the Mia 2 since the first setting is just fine. She also said the Mia's brush head is antibacterial so it doesnt clog pores like the Oil of Olay one. Hope that helps.

I own the olay its nice but like the clarisonic it's very overrated. I strongly advise NOT getting the mia. We sell it in my store, it's very popular. The olay spins , the mia vibrates and spins, but vibrates more. It makes your skin feel insanely clean and smoothe, however because it exfoliates it also will bring out your breakouts, not cause them, but they will come out quicker and more will come out at a time as opposed to the way your skin naturally "decides" to let the suckers come out. Physical exfoliation is overrated, chemical exfoliation is what really works, aha's and bha's work wonders and there's plenty of formulas that are safe for sensitive skin. Also many people have gotten broken capillaries and permanently streched out pores from using the clarisonic and olay systems, if you use it a couple times a week it should be ok but it won't make an impact on your skin so why bother? and for the price? go to beautypedia.com and look up the reviews for the clarisonic mia and olay , she also has lists of best products for bha (salicylic acid) and aha (glycolic and other acids) products. Seriously... it will change your perspective about skincare.
