Maybe 11-12...but not younger and not too overboard.

I'm 13, and I sometimes wear makeup to school. I wear mascara, BB cream, a little blush, and a light lip gloss. Now, I'm experimenting with some light colored shadow. My mom is conservative when it comes to me, and she has no problem with me wearing it (only once and a while though, not daily). It really all depends on how you feel, what you want, and what your parents feel about it. If its ok with them, then go for it. Just don't do to much everyday cuz it can and will prematurely ruin your skin. If you want to apply daily, go with a coat of mascara, a little gloss, and maybe a little blush. Make sure you wash your face every nite to wash off all the makeup. Hope this helps.

No kids shouldn't wear makeup under 12 or at 12! Way to young to damage their face.

I generally wore makeup when I was nine but 12 is a perfect age to start!(I'm 14). :)

I wore light makeup at 12 and find it acceptable. These days there are so many herbal and mineral lines that are natural and don't clog the pores of your skin. What's not acceptable are the kids wearing so much makeup they look like cheap whores. Or that Mimi lady. :(

Oh a whole bunch of parents recently debated on a board I'm on if a 12 year old is too young for thong (I'm old enough to remember when that refers to rubber flip flops) and although I don't think they need to be worrying about panty lines at that age, or wearing anything tight enough to show lines, I was overwhelmingly in the minority. These are mostly Beverly Hills families, so not a typical sampling by any means. I think the bar for make up should be lower than butt floss, and if there are blemishes to cover at any age that should be allowed. I'd think as long as it was age appropriate it's okay. DD is a fashionista with lots of interest in make up, I'm on the fence about play make up right now, maybe when she's a bit older so it doesn't get on her clothes.
