I need help trying to find a really good moisturiser for the hands in the picture. im a carer for a lady with intellectual disabilities and started working with her 2 weeks ago. the skin on her hands is so dry (was severely cracked when I started here). I have been layering on the moisturiser onto her hands about 6 times a day when im on shift but goes straight back to bwing badly cracked if she misses a day of applying lotion. ive been using johnsons baby lotion on them. is there any better products out there to help me get rid of the dry cracked skin on her hands

palmers cocoa butter concentrated formula is amazing, but I haven't seen hands that bad before. maybe you could use a lotion designed for cracked feet/heels?

thanks will give the palmers cocoa butter a try. I actually havea bottle of it in my bag so will leave it in work for the other staff to use. couldnt get over the dryness of her hands myself. shes on the autistic spectrum and tends to bang a lot of different surfaces for sensory stimulation which hasnt helped the dry skin problem

I have extremely dry skin and currently use Eucerin Intensive Repair Extra-Enriched Hand Creme. It is fragrance free, non-greasy, and contains glycerin as the second ingredient. Glycerin is better for the skin during the winter as it helps maintain moisture. I would definitely stick with fragrance free also since dyes and perfumes can make skin even drier. Also if possible try not to use any antibacterial soap or lotion as this will dry the skin even more. I learned all of this the hard way with a recent breakout of hand excema that causes tiny blisters to form on the skin.
