I'm a little freaked out. A while back I noticed I got a reallyyyy small bump on my left eyelid. It's not gross looking or anything, it's just small bump that is the same color as my skin that hasn't gone away. I noticed I have another one on the left side of the same eye...I have noooo idea what it is. They don't hurt, aren't red or anything...they are just there and won't go away. I don't have acne or pimples so ik that's not what it is. My mom has had skin cancer twice and I'm worried if that is what it might be...does anyone on here know what I'm talking about? Am I freaking out for nothing? HELP!

Do you take your makeup off regularly?

I have had one before on my eye lids. It's nothing to worry about. I'm not exactly sure what it is called but it isn't harmful. I'm not sure what causes them. But I have had them many times and they have gone away sooner or later.

If it doesn't go away in a couple months or it begins to get larger, you might want to go see a dermatologist.

You have a cyst. You may need to have it lanced if it bothers you and doesn't go away.

Maybe taking off makeup more will help to keep your eyes less irritated. But ya it's probably just a cyst

What does lanced mean? :(

I get them all the time....nothing to worry about. Just a little skin tag, and they will come and go. My mom is a dr and has looked at it several times...def not a cyst!

It sounds like milia to me. I'm a licensed Esthetician and see this on a lot of my clients. They can be easily removed by a dermatologist. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002343/

You probably just have a stye I know a lot of people that have gotten them from not taking off there make up. You should probably buy new mascara or eyeliner or whatever you use around your eyes because it could appear again; but usually they only last a few days just try to wear as less make up as you can and apply a warm wet towel on it and it should go away!

Rene you beat me to it I was just going to post that...a stye completely harmless...but due to the fact that your mother has had skin cancer if you really feel unease about it seek medical attention just to reassure yourself good luck:)

Possibly a Stye? My sister gets them when she uses certain brands. To be sure, go to a dermatologist. :)

It's hard to identify it without seeing it.
It could be a number of things, such as a stye, cyst, or milia.
Styes can develop when dirt or grit get into the eye and the eye's natural defenses can't get it out. It gets stuck and the lining of the eyelid forms a film around it, embedding it into the lid.
Not taking your makeup off properly can cause this.
A cyst can develop as a result of a number of things.
It could form from an infection (again it could be dirt stuck in the eye) or it could be your body manifesting something a bit more serious via your eyes. Then skin and tissue around your eyes is very delicate, after all.
It could also be a sun spot, so keep a close eye (pardon the pun) on it and be sure to see your GP immediately if it changes colour, shape or size.
Milia are small and slightly raised spots which often appear around the eyes, on the lids and inside corners.
They are little fat or calcium deposits. You shouldn't squeeze them or try to pop them. I get them a lot, they are completely harmless and a nurse or GP should be able to lift them out with a pin or small needle.
Again, without seeing it, it's difficult to say what it is. Whichever the case, try a warm compress each morning and night. If there is any dirt in there, this should help to draw it out.
Lubricating eye drops might also be an option - you can buy these over the counter.
If it doesn't go away after a couple of weeks, see your doctor.

its sound like its just a sty/stye. it should go away soon unless you itch it or touch it to much.
