Hi, I have oily hair and I can wash it one day an 2 hours later it looks super greasy and gross. I have tried everything, and have even gone to a dermatologist and gotten prescription shampoo...any suggestions out there as what to use or try?
Thanks!

you have oily hair as a result of a dry scalp, your body is trying to compensate for the loss of moisturization by producing more oils. if you use conditioner, try not to apply it on your scalp, but rather starting mid shaft to the ends of your hair. conditioner can actually dry out your scalp. Try investing in dry shampoos as well, my favorite is the dry shampoo by Suave. Use it just after the shower and youve dried your hair.

also forgot to mention to find shampoos that do not contain sulfates! ;)

Do you get oily or sweaty anywhere else on your body? It's just your scalp? You might also want to avoid shampoo/conditioner containing sillicone and its derivatives.

I don't know if it's true, but I read somewhere that washing too much can cause the hair to create more oil and that by washing it less you can train it to make less, I have oily hair myself, I never make it past two unwashed days
