Help! I am new at this makeup thing and I need help with foundation . Should I use on shade? And what the difference between foundation and liquid makeup.

If you find a shade that matches you, then you should just use one, but a lot of people mix more than one to get that perfect match. There is no difference between foundation and liquid makeup, there's just different kinds of foundation. There is liquid foundation, which is obviously a liquid consistency, making it easier to blend. There's cream foundation, which is a little thicker, creamier, and generally gives fuller coverage. Then there's powder foundation which would probably be the lightest coverage of the three.
