I recently watched a t.v programme that showed how photographs especially of celebrities are touched up, airbrushed and edited. Yes, it looks good to the reader but it gives us a false impression & unrealistic sense of what 'beauty' is. Would you agree? There has been many times where i have been reading a magazine and came across a flawless picture of a celebrity and thought ' i wish i looked like that'.
Would you like to see more celebrities in magazines whose photographs haven't been airbrushed?
Would it give us girls more confidence to see celebrities as they really are?

I'm not concerned about editorial pictures. Usually in a studio you end up with a lot of very strong lighting that can highlight imperfections and pick up things that your eye wouldn't pay attention to normally.

What you see is a matter of how your brain interprets it, not what's actually there.

If you want to use celebrities as a basis of comparison, the best option is to take a look at red carpet pictures.

I know, I saw that a while back, can't believe the difference!! if only I could airbrush my photos like that...lol, but yeah I know what you mean, they are celebreties and have to look good, even though it's fake...idk lol

You know, they can do anything nowadays. My friend has a huge flash attachment on the top of his camera and it's called a "Beauty Dish", because it literally makes anyone look like 50 million times better. Good lighting makes all the difference.

This is a subject that has been around forever, though. They are going to continue to photoshop models. What can you do about it, really, except educate young people that real women don't actually look like this and the people you see in magazines are aliens.

Really. They are.
