Problem areas...NOT just weight

So lately with the new year and all i've been so hyped about getting in shape. No, not just thin, but toned and healthy. I don't believe in dieting- i watch what i eat and exercise at least five times a week. i'm also a vegan so my diet is naturally healthy- i can't eat cake whenever i want to because of the products used.

Now, with this regimen I went from 144 pounds to 127 since july and i'm 5'3-5'4. i'm pretty much okay with this weight but somme places..no matter how Much i workout..won't get fixed. These places are my stomach and arms. I find this odd since a lot of my workouts target the core AND i use a resistance band for my arms. They're just rather big and my stomach pops out. Is there any workouts that target these areas? I don't necessarily need to lose weight but i'd love for these areas to get done. Maybe foods i should avoid eating? or eat more of?

Thankss!

maybe u should just do cardio workouts. that way, u'll be able to lose weight all over---and without cardio workouts, things like situps and pushups dont really work cuz its not enough to get ur heart rate up. maybe go jogging?? ;p

A combinatiob of weights and cardio is essential to any workout combined with a balanced diet. Resistance bands are good but maybe you can try weights. Start light like 5lbs and focus on posture and clean sets and once you're comfortbale go up. Cardio alone won't do it. Your stomach has a lot to do with diet. Try a good set of combined abs for upper and lower abs and make sure you're eating well.

btw....push ups will help your core and arms. Try doing them all they way down :) hope this helps!

Do planks :) and limit carbs- very little carbs!!! Plank every day :) I also heard that Brittany Spears did 2000 situps a day to maintain her killer abs- just food for thought.

@ Love i'd love to run or jog but here in nyc it was 10 degrees today! and is usually in the 20's. not jogging weather. plus i have asthma so mixed with the cold..total disaster. tis a shame..since i always knew it was such a great whole-body workout.

@ana- thanks! if i don't have 5 pound weights is there anything i can use in place for them?

@julie- omg! 2000? i timed it..takes me about 3 mins to do fifty if i do them right. that would take foreverrrr o.O ain't nobodddy got time for that!! but i suppose if i spread it out in 15 min sessions every hour then maybe (: it would deffinitely explain how a celebrity goes from frumpy to fabbuulous in record breaking time

try doing 50 situps in the morning before breakfast and another 50 before bed. you notice a difference so quickly! good luck!

I would make my girls at zumba do the workouts with water bottles and that always helped so you can try it. they are really inexpensive on Amazon too! good ol' pushups do the trick too ; )

Pilates!!! Its foundations are dance (ballet) and yoga. Core muscles will strengthen and posture will improve!
