I've had acne since I was in sixth grade and now I'm eighteen years old. I've been dating the same guy for a year and he says he likes it because it makes me different from all of the other girls. He tells me I'm pretty without it, but I feel so uncomfortable with my acne showing. Any help?

I had acne since the fifth grade and I'm also eighteen.. Usually salicylic acid acne treatments havent worked so basically clean and clear neutrogena...any drugstore cleansers...but proactive has been the only cleanser that cleared up my skin..,my skin used to be so bad people would make fun of me but now I get so many compliments...now that I'm acne free I focus on the quality of my skin and bioré steam activated snapped my pores shut and has created pretty flawless skin

I've had acne since sixth grade and am now a freshman in college! I've tried everything (Accutane, proactiv, neutrogena, clean n clear, clearasil, diffren, the list goes on and on). Nothing ever helped. I decided to stop using such harsh treatments and take a more gentle route. I wash my face twice a day with African Black Soap and moisturize with Cetaphil (I ran out, so am now using Palmers cocoa butter. Some say it can clog pores, but it hasn't for me. I love it).
Also, be sure to eat healthy and exercise.
That's my regime and my once awful skin looks better than ever (still stuck with scars though!).

I had the worst acne ever try to go to youtube and search bakingsoda as a treatment for acne it really helps get rid of all your acne. I would get from expensive products to your typical drugstrore treatments and nothing worked for me except for baking soda just one little note u might feel a little pain or irritation but because the baking soda is treating your acne and then your face will feel very tingeley after it works wonders and its only like a dollar compared to the stuff i bought which was over $80

Baking soda and lemons masks work wonders I swear!! And it really helps with acne scars amazingly also!

I use proactive, I had been avoiding it since my skin is super sensitive, but I haven't had any issues with it so far, I get really bad cystic acne near the jaw/cheek area and its like painful, and this usually makes it go away pretty fast, I didn't have bad acne in high school, but adult acne has been a pain in the butt. Even if you don't use their benzoyl peroxide cleanser, the face and body one is salicylic acid and worked for me even when i ran out of the regular face cleanser, and you can use it all over.
