apply leave in conditioner (ex. paul michel ,The Conditioner) then a light oil (ex.coconut oil or grapeseed ) then a cream based moisturizer ( shea moisture, curl enhacing smoothie). it will lock in moisture and control hair you do this while damp, and threw out the week mist with water and repeat. You do this if your gonna wear the hair straight or curly the m main thing is locking in moisture then you can procede with styling.

I agree with Tasha. I think a light oil should suffice. My baby is mixed as well, but his hair is all over the place. It's SUPER curly...very fine in the back, coarse in the middle, and a mixture of fine/coarse in the front. Lol...also try the Mixed Chicks products. They are really good for providing moisture without weighing the hair down.
