Totally depends on the usage. They usual state 3 months after you've opened them but if you're using them a lot or make up shoots they'll go a lot sooner.

I'm now on the fence about this. The most popular thing you'll hear is three months, but you've also got people like 87daysbefore that has a bunch of mascaras and she hates that whole thing and none of her mascaras have gone bad after three months so whatever. And she and other people haven't gotten an infection. so now i'm just going with whenever my mascara doesn't do what it's supposed to do anymore.

yes sounds like the best plan.. I don't seem to be getting any length of mascaras lately.. think its time to change brand :-)
