my 4 year old daughter bites her nails I've tryied a thousand times telling her not to do it but half the time she doesn't realise she's doing it. any ideas on how to stop her doing it?

My mother used to use clear nail polish or lemon to prevent my sister from biting her nails as a child. Anything that tastes bad should work.

Hi,I have only just stooped biting mine please take it from me if she didn't realise she is doing it then you keep telling her will upset get because is an unconscious thing she will feel like you are blaming her for something she can't help, best thing that worked for me is an incentive to stop because its a habit like smoking, only you can stop yourself, I'm not being mean to anyone and don't mean to upset anyone just wanted to say that being told always upset me xxx

You can but a clear nail polish called the Kick The Habit (available at most drugstore, mines from Walmart) specially made for nail biters. It tastes really gross and is made to make you stop biting your nails, your daughter probably won't like it at all due to the taste but it will stop you fro biting your nails.

I bought sinful colors anti bite and nail growth polish. seriously works definitely stopped me from biting my nails. I was biting for like 15 years, and after putting that stuff on I stopped biting and now at the age of 18 my nails look great. she's gonna thank you for putting that on her.

I recently kicked my 5 year olds nail biting habit by rewarding her with a manicure and pedicure on Saturdays. I file them and shape them for her then we paint them any colour is desires or do clear with some stickers
