Styling short hair?

My hair goes to the top of my chest and then flips out and I have no clue what to do what it..
First time with hair this short and I am having trouble finding ways to style it.
Any advice?
I have side bangs also..
Preferably styles where it's down or half-up, I don't feel very confident with my hair up..
