Noooo it messed up my hair so bad! Definitely a mistake. My hair still hasn't grown out and it's been almost 2 years.

as a professional, I use a razor comb. it doesn't damage your hair if you do it right and have a professional do it. I've done it to my hair and I have no issues

A year ago I gave it a try, and it was the most terrible thing I had ever done to my hair, I have naturally thick hair, but this technique made my hair super thin and bulky, luckily I have managed to grow it out.

yeah... the point of the razor is to give subtle layers but I know when kids started doing those "scene" cuts they cut so much off that their hair was bulky. which isn't the point of razoring. what sucks is places like sallys sell shears and you don't have to have a license for them. so when kids get a hold of them they do that.

Razoring isn't going to cause your hair to stop growing, but it's a really bad idea. It grows out very poorly and it only looks good if you style it JUST SO for the first week. Maybe two if you're lucky. After that it just goes to frizz city and is impossible to manage.

I layer my hair with a razor all the time and my hair grows perfectly fine and is healthy so it works for me.

I believe its all about what you feel looks like an awesome idea to you. sometimes a razor cut isn't exactly for everyone but if it is done correctly there should be no problems. Its all a matter of how you like to wear your hair & the style you intend on doing once you get your hair cut if razoring is a good choice or not. In the end it can be an awesome fun idea and leaves you w plenty of room to play around w your hair and it will definitely feel lighter for you if you have heavy full hair. I would recommend for a first timer if you decide to have it done, keep it to a little amount you get taken off to determine if you like the razor effect.

DO NOT Razor it yourself. I did, I started way to close to my scalp and I took out a huge chunk. I was laughing so hard! But my mom, who is a hair dresser had to fix it, but she couldn't do much. Me and my friends laugh at it now. But when my stylist does it, he does it amazingly!
