I canNOT find a foundation that controls my oily skin. Even translucent powder doesn't hold. After about an hour the oil just seeps through. I've basically given up and simply bought blotting sheets from elf. Any tips??

I have the same problem. Have you tried Revlon Colorstay?

I would use the Revlon colorstay for combo/oily skin. are you using a primer for oil control? try setting liquid foundation with a powder and some urban decay deslick spray! that should hold you over a little longer and you won't need to use as many blotting sheets

I have crazy oily skin and I use Naked Skin by Urban Decay. Also this is really crazy but I use corn starch as a finishing powder. Try it! It's cheap and it looks soooo good. Stays matte on my oily skin all day. Also make sure you're moisturizing and priming. Do you exfoloiate also?

MakeUpForever's Matte Velvet is the only foundation I've ever used that lasts all day for me and I have very oily skin. It is well worth the money!

MAC has a decent foundation but I don't know what is in it. ={ I think if you went to Sephora and asked for samples of foundations, you're bound to find one. Try Kat Von D's foundation, it's what I use. I tend to sweat and wipe my makeup off, this seems to work quite well. I hope this helps.

I have oily skin myself, a trick I learned is to use milk of magnesia. Yes, I said milk of magnesia lol. Use a latex sponge to spread a thin layer over your face, then proceed with the rest of your makeup routine. Be careful not to use too much or it will leave white residue :/. But it will keep your face oil free for hours. I'm thinking about making a video on this soon, I hope this helps.

Britt: I've actually heard of that before. I'm realllllly paranoid ab my face breaking out from diff products. But you should most def do a video! I might try it :)

I do the milk of magnesia too really does work ! And the thing with that too is it helps with acne! So u wouldn't have to worry about breaking out with that : )

It actually dries out your acne and reduces it I've noticed. You should try it. :)

I have oily skin as well. i would stay away from the liquid foundations and stick to the powder. Also use a brush not the compact pad thing. It does make a difference. The girls at mac told me so... ;)

Apply milk of magnesium under foundation. Looks white, but will be fine with foundation over it. Cheap. Ask drugstore.

believe it r not-moisturizing at night(when ur not as concerned about being all dewey)will significantly decrease oil production....drying out oily skin tells the body to make more oil ! find a nice non-oily water based moisturizer...blot with clean tissue during the day..u can add corn starch to ur loose powder and lightly reapply after blotting. exfoliafe gently at night with cleansing..then moisturize ! hope u find healthier radiant skin :)) ur skin wont look old so soon with oilier complexions so that is a huge plus !!!

I have really oily skin especially my eye lids. What I learned is to make sure everything you use is oil free. From your moisturizer to primer to your foundation. I use cetaphil oil control cleanser and moisturizer. Primer I use Laura Mercier oil Free Primer. Then I use my Makeup Forever Hd foundation and set it with my Mac Mineralized SkinFinish. Also a trick is to let each product do its job. You want to allow a minute or so for the product to set in your skin. I learned that from Destiny Godley and I love how my skin looks in makeup now. Just because you have oily skin doesn't mean you can't use liquid. If you prefer to use it then make sure it's for oily skin. Oh and lastly you're not going to be able to keep your oily skin at bay all day. It's your skin type. What you can do to keep it matte looking is have a setting powder in your bag or your blotting papers. I hope this helps.
