usually your undertones, hair and eye color can help you predict what shade best suits you... For me I'm EXTREMELY pale and have pink undertones as well as brown eyes... so for me, deep reds and darker violets are best... anything orange or too light of a red color make my skin turn orange.
If your undertones are more on the cool side, those orange/bright reds will probably suffice.
Also, Natural tones work well on everyone. So those beige, super soft pinks, etc. should work for you too.
PS. ALWAYS use a lip liner for those darker shades if you do venture that direction!
