It sounds like cystic acne. The best thing for that is to get a cream with benzoyl peroxide in it. I think I saw one that clearasil makes called pergsa-10 at CVS. I am sure there are other brands, but i just happened to see this one. You should apply it to your face after you wash it and just really rub some extra into spots where you have the acne.

They're just closed comedones. I don't think you need to go as harsh as benzoyl peroxide at 10%...
I've been having the same issue which has only become noticeable to me now that my visible (as in red, inflamed) breakouts have more or less vanished, minus the occasional spot near my period. I have to say that the little bumps (comedones) have gotten a lot better since I switched to a more hydrating moisturizer. Your skin will naturally heal them, it's just a matter of preventing new ones from building and I think the moisturizer really helps in lubricating dead skin cells enough so that they can be pushed to the surface they way they're supposed to. Definitely continue exfoliating.
I'm hoping I can eliminate it completely soon. We'll see.

Oops it is a closed comedeo, but it is still recommended by derms to rub benzoyl into them.

It's still pretty harsh/drying/irritating (plus the sun sensitivity). I'd try something less drastic first and see if that clears up the problem. Like I said, mine is going away just by switching moisturizer.

It could be Milia? Search this up on google and see if it relates to what you have.
