Before you spend money on a product try cutting dairy out of your diet and up your water intake. Dairy is so bad for you anyways but is a major cause of acne.

I really like SpectroDerm face washes. They get rid of acne and oil and moisturize at the same time. For a face cream i have't found any good drugstore brands yet

ive found that the less products you use the better, i now use a gentle cleanser like cetaphil or cerave... and then i tone with dickinsons witch hazel... and then moisturize with olays beauty fluid in the original formula...and for spot treatment i use a benzoyl peroxide cream or gel that is 2.5%... to exfoliate i just use a washcloth with water while im in the shower it has worked really well so far!

Drink lots of water. Change your pillow case often. Wash your face in the morning and at night. Use an acne product on your skin at night. And face masks once a week. (:

Different brands work differently on everyone, but I would personally recommend clean and clear! :) they have a kit with their best products :3 a week straight of using that cleared my face like crazy :3

Try using a toner with 2% salicylic acid in it. I have a combo skin type and my fave drugstore buy is Biore's Blemish Treating Astringent because it doesn't dry out my skin.

This is my routine @ night. 1) Walmart brand make up wipes to remove makeup 2) I use the brand Acne Free for my toner & wash. I don't moisturizer because it makes my skin very oily. Typically it's a 3-4 step process but worth it. In the morning I do the same thing but no make up wipes

The olay moisturizer with the SPF makes my face itch be careful with that. I think that the less ingredients that the product has the better! I made the mistake of buying this Olay moisturizer bc it has SPF (which by the way if you wear Benzoyle Peroxide make sure in the day time you wear SPF bc your skin will burn and or irritate). but yeah I am still looking for a good moisturizer! Oil free is always preferable when it comes to acne prone skin

I'm going to say it again, I get spots every now and again, just hormones they say, but you can help it by keeping a strict skin care routine, I would go and see a consultant or if it's very bad see a dermotologist, I use Clinique's anti-blemish solutions, it's a three step regime, cleanse, tone and moisturise, it's oil free and has all the right ingredients for problem skin, also recommended by dermotologists,it really has improved my skin and always feel so clean and fresh after using it.Try it :)

I have to post because I have suffered with horrible acne for months like I have never had to deal with before. I was going to the dermatologist took pills used organic to behind the counter stuff and nothing helped.

I started using my daughter's Johnson & Johnson yellow baby wash and my skin cleared up instantly! my skin has never been better. It's been 3 weeks without a single pimple. I still can't believe it. I also use the $60 bare minerals pure minerals overnight powder every night. Try these two products. I hope they work for you as this is the first product that has ever worked for me!

I have had EXTREME problems with acne. I tried many different skin care products, and some helped but they didn't do what I was looking for. Eventually I found the real secret to having great skin, and it's water. (:
The more water you drink, the better your skin. Stay away from sugary drinks. Those are what kill your skin. Lots of water really does the job. (:

Alex E...did you use johnson's baby shampoo on your face?

I got this cream from my doctor. It's called Aberela(i don't know if you've got it in the US or if it's named something else, cause i live in Norway :p). It contains vitamin A acid. That's the main ingredient that kills acne best :) And the best of all, it removes wrinkles and fix scars. Be aware not to use it too much, because it irritates the skin and makes it really flaky. If it gets flaky and irritated, i put on a gel thing which is called Bacimycin. It contains vaselin and klorhexidin. This kills bacteria and keeps it moisturized so it heals faster! I use Aberela only on the worst area(directly on the pimple, and scars) 1 day and then a day off.. and so on:) BTW, your skin does not only depend on what you eat and drink, it comes mainly from your hormones and is genetically. It is smart to change your pillow if you sleep with your head down on the pillow, wash your makeup brushes often(Clinique has this good spray wich lasts forever:)), wash your face every morning and night. Remember that at night, your skin releaves most of it's oil.

For American references, Linn means a topical retinoid. I believe one brand is called Retin-A and it's available only by prescription.

yes, that's true, Stephanie :-) that stuff is really good. it was easy for me to get it because it's not directly a dangerous product as my doctor said when i contacted him. I don't have really bad acne(some red scars because i keep plucking them all the time, pimples that i get here and there, really oily skin and blackheads all over my face:( ) My doctor gave it to me and just said he expected I use it carefully and just contacted him if I noticed any unusual with my skin after I've used it. It's worth a try :-)
