Hi guys, I really would love to wear blush on a regular basis, but because of my huge pores, it tends to look kind of crazy on me. Either it seems to emphasize the fact that I have large pores, or it looks splotchy. It's very rare that it looks nice. Anyone else has this problem? Any advice?

Use a primer before you put any makeup on it smoothes your skin and theres even a primer called poreless or something I think its from Mac or some other high end brand I cant remember it makes your pores appear smaller

Thank you! I've been trying out E.L.F. 's mineral infused primer but it really isn't doing the job. I did used to use MAC's prep + prime, but I ran out. Guess sometimes you can't skimp when it comes to quality ;-)

Maybe try cream blush?

I was kind of scared to try cream blush b/c of my problem. Does it settle nice after application?

The porefessional from benefit works for me, they have small sample sizes in some of their pallets and I'm sure if you have a brow bar near you they can let you try it on at the counter.

Too faced makes a primer called primed and poreless it's amazing! I have large pores on my nose and I tab it on and it little fills in the pores. Benefit also makes a primer that's for pores which is pretty good.

Spot treat with a matte primer. Don't use a primer that is illuminizing. Matte will diffuse your issue and give you a nice canvas to apply your blush.

I have the same problem ugh. And on a daily basis I don't have time in the morning to really prep my skin. BUT on weekends when going out and taking the time to prep my face I feel like it makes a lot of difference... When you moisturizer, wait about 10-15 min and let it set in. Then when you prime, let that set in for about 15 min. Also when using a pore filler primer, pat it on top of the area where you have large pores, don't rub. Then I apply my foundation and let that sit while I do my eye makeup. By that time I feel like I have a perfect canvas. And then I apply blush!!

use cream blush, it settles onto the skin more nicely, giving it a dewy look.

I have the same problem and while I love blush with a little shimmer/ glow, I find that a matte blush doesn't accentuate my large pores as much. My personal favorites are the tarte Amazonian clay blushes.

I have the same issue! my sister gave me an Estee Lauder Kit and it had a blush compact that I looooove! I got the Tarter poreless primer from a deluxe trio pack. it was only nine dollars! a little bit of it goes a long way. got it at Sephora c:

the porefessional by benefit is the best. I usually put a primer on first, smashbox is the best for any skin concern.. then my foundation and then I use the porefessional on my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin.. all the high points of your face. it smooths out fine lines, and fills in your pores in a healthy way. a little goes a lomg way so it's worth the 30$.. it's silky smooth and I never have to retouch throughout the day :)
