after you wash your hair, when it is damp put a tiny bit of gel in it and put it in a tight braid! :) wait until it is dry and then take it out! you should have really wacy hair

when you curl it blow on it or hold it for a bit because when its hot its easy to shape and you need to seal it with cold. use only a small amount of hairspray because the product may cause it to be too heavy. I've got the same problem with fairly thin and straight hair, but yeah try that out.

unless there's a natural curl in your hair it crunching it probably won't work, you'll need heat. you'll probably have best luck if it's the day after you've washed it, and your hair doesn't have that "just conditioned" feel. if you're worried about it being greasy then put a bit of dry shampoo in at the roots before you style it. i use a straightener to curl my hair and find that holds the most curl. also another thing that works is spraying a bit of hairspray on the section of your hair you're about to curl and then curling it after (make sure the spray has dried though). then load on the hairspray after! good luck!
