Don't do it ... You have to lighten your hair to put hi def colors on your head .... I have made this mistake once lol it was horrible

Blue black hair doesn't have to be bleached first. But it's a pain in the rear to get rid of, so I say no.

I did that and when its fading it kinda looks like you have mouldy hair really wouldnt recommend it :/

If your hair hasnt been dyed then it may work a little but id say bleach it first then dye it. And take really good care of it after you dye it.

Depends. If you just want a tint, you don't have to bleach your hair. If you do want it bright blue, you will. I colour my hair kinda often (tried blue, green, purple, orange, yellow, auburn, fuchsia) but I've never had it bleached blond, light brown works fine for me. I do agree with Ruth above, when blue (or even green) is fading, the colour can turn kind of mousy greyish blue. Dark colours like blue, green, purple, I think, suit fair skinned ppl. Blue is actually pretty with brown eyes, too.
