Watch videos on YouTube. That will help you make up your mind. That's what helped me.

I've had mine for years now but I must say it was the worse healing process ever. It took 9 months to heal.

I dont think its risky if you go to a good place to get it pierced and keep it clean and healthy. I think belly piercings are adorable and ive wanted one for so long. I say go for it if you know for sure you want it :)

I got mine pierced last year, it hurt but it looks great. if you do get it pierced they will tell you to not touch it, its hard not to but it will make it less likely to get infected

I love my belly ring but Amy E is right it the healing process is very long and painful I had trouble sleeping when I first had mine done. But all in all I would definitely do it again. They are very cute.

I just got mine done a couple weeks ago! It didn't hurt really (I did get a little woozy from the adrenaline right afterwards, but nothing major). I love it! I've been wanting one for a while. Pretty much make sure you really want it, don't just do it for attention or because you think other people will like it. Also, like other people said, don't touch it afterwards (or make sure you really thoroughly wash your hands). Keep it really clean! I use a solution of antibacterial soap and water, just clean it with a q-tip. My healing hasn't been so bad, it only hurts when I forget I have it and accidentally bump it.

I'm a trained piercer. Any piercing is worth it of you are willing to properly care for it. Most piercings will leave a small scar when you take it out. Naval piercings have a long healing time (just because it doesn't hurt anymore doesn't mean it's healed).

If you get it make sure you get good quality jewelry (NOT hot topic garbage).

Good luck

I'm getting my belly button pierced this month. I have waited because I wanted to lose weight before I got it. I just have to lose 15 pounds and then I'm good :) get it if your comfortable with your stomach size. I have a bigger stomach because my boobs are naturally big, and my body tried to even out. now I'm just working towards being confident enough to wear a two peice swimsuit again :)

I've had mine for years, & haven't regretted it. If you're getting it for you, why not?!

I have had mine for over 5 years now! I have never had a problem with mine, I don't even "take care" of it. I just left it alone!

Get it on the bottom! That's where mine is and I love it =] deffs worth it if you take care of it and want it enough. Mine was stupid the first time I pierced it so I took it out and I missed it so much I got it redone! They're adorable =]

I've had mine pierced twice. I got it first a few days before my 17th birthday. But had to take it out about nine months later because I was pregnant and it was getting infected. But I got it re pierced last July. And haven't had any problems at all.

I had my belly button pierced when I was younger. I got a hoop put in not knowing that I wouldn't be able to wear bars in the future because of the way the pierced skin is shaped. So, after a couple years of only wearing hoops, I got bored with it and took it out. It left a small hole and it didn't bother much. Flash forward 7 years and I'm pregnant with my son. The hole above my belly button stretches and that sensitive scar tissue left a good size stretch mark on my stomach. I was religious with the palmers lotions and didn't get stretch marks anywhere else. Some of my friends have had children and had no problems with their piercing, but this is something to consider.

Make sure its something you REALLY want- I've had mine since December and it's still healing, but it looks and feels great. It only hurt a lot the first few days but then after that it was just sore. But basically, only get one if you know you want it. But for me it was TOTALLY worth it. I'm only 13, and the pain wasnt even that much and I just felt a little dizzy afterwards but I was too excited to care. Good luck! :)
