Creamy rich & the perfect grey tone-- the way a "sculpting shade" should be-- to draw attention to your, already perfect, low points and to slim and shade your face; and it includes the famous gorgeous --& btw in high demand-- "candlelight" color highlighter (except in an almost delicious creamy form) that is loved by most all that have ever used it: for calling attention to your, already beautiful, high points, of course. Not surprised at all, I received exactly what I expected to receive. Oh, and to touch on many people's interesting comments regarding the product....lol....please excuse my laughter, but yes it's smaller than most cheek pans. Why? well...because simply you just don't need much AT ALL to properly get the job done. Unless of course you plan on looking like a clown after you leave the house, front seat of your car or bathroom at work before you clock in for the work day. ;-D This stuff rocks. Don't hesitate. Works great with one's fingers best to be honest imo...that's how I use it... and it's got PLENTY of product (when I'm finished using it), & for a super LOW LOW price tag for this KEVYN AUCOIN product. I can't quite understand those: "it's too small" comments, sorry. How much do you need? Anyways, to each their own, I will say for the sake of avoiding people's possible "sensitive feelings" ..lol. For those of you on the fence, I LOOOVE to reinforce my hotness, YOU LOOOVE TO REINFORCE YOUR HOTNESS RIGHT!!?? I wear it... & I look FAB, heck... I want different color palettes...You'll love it & look FAB too, & you'll want more colors, IF you RESPECT good makeup. So Have a great day by getting you some of this FABULOUSLY FINE party in a pan.... packaged so nicely, as always, in a little brown shiny sleek container. XX
I have been using KA's sculpting and highlighting powders for years and have always been blown away by their versatility, as they look fantastic on fair, light, medium and dark skin tones. Not many products can get away with that! I just kept wishing they'd come in cream form. And now they do! Candlelight/Sculpting duo is, as the name suggests, the cream incarnation of his eponymous powders and, boy, are they good. Candlelight can be described as pure radiance in a pan. It is almost translucent and there is no glitter to be found anywhere. If you want hat "lit from within" glow, that is exactly what this baby delivers. It also plays well with other cream products and is truly a breeze to blend. As for Sculpting, I believe the name says it all. Simply out, this is one of the best contouring colors out there, with a deep gray undertone and no orange to be found. Applied with a brush, a sponge or even fingertips, it blends effortlessly into the skin, creating the perfect sculpted shadow. About the packaging, I admit these creamy glow duos are indeed quite small, but then again it's Kevyn Aucoin, so a higher price point is pretty much expected.
Yes these are small, but where are you going to get a world class product ( well, two!) much larger at this price? Before I discuss the product I'd like to say that this is a much better size for products; less likely to have it left over at the end of the season, and thrown out as happens to most of us! For me, it's perfect. Now the Holy Grail of bronzer/ Blushers is soft and buttery and needs just a little of either product. I have two, I also got #3 which has a nice coral blush. The are absorbed so well , no pulling skin, just leave it there and it does it's job. I would strongly recommend these, they are right for the pocket and you won't have much left over, at the end of the season, allowing you to change around if you wish!
I honestly love this product it is amazing.it works perfectly and looks really good. It's very small but I love it. It do suggest you get this item because I love it very much
I bought this because I was afraid of paying $88 for the contour and highlight powders. As others have said this is a tiny amount of product, but a little goes a long way. I've only had it few weeks, but I've used it every day and I've barely made a dent. The product is super creamy, but doesn't go on greasy. You just touch your finger to the product and it transfers to your skin. I use my fingers to apply and then blend with a flat top kabuki and it works great. I'm just getting the hang of contouring, but it's really fun to have access to the best there is. This plays nicely with all my foundations, but particularly well with the RCMA foundation. I'd say if you have the light neutral RCMA palette there is a color in there that is mighty similar to the light color here but I think the texture of this is a bit better for contouring because it has some silicon in it, I think and that makes it go on really slick and fast. I can sketch out my face contour with two fingers in about 40 seconds. No more "no time to contour" excuses.
I just got this in the mail and it is extremely small. It looks like a deluxe sized item you'd get with purchase. I love Kevyn Aucoin, but I'm unimpressed with the pigmentation, size and finish off this product. Really, truly offended by the size, especially when it's nestled in the box it came in, next to the incredibly pigmented Inglot blush of the same size that costs less than half the price of the KA.
Duo #1, Nuelle/Bloodroses is my go-to favorite for cream blush and #4 Sculpt/Candlelight is my holy grail contouring duo, although I wish the shades were reversed. I use wayyyy more Sculpt than Candlelight and kept panning them. I've since remedied that by buying the Contour Book Vol.2 lol! I still love the duo though, it's amazing for travel and touch ups. The blushes have fantastic staying power, as nothing else seems to last thru my hot flashes (oh the joys!). I was intimidated by the pigmentation of the blushes at first...they seemed to pack more punch than I'm used to, but I quickly discovered their versatility: they can be blended out to a subtle flush or can be built up to be as bold as one wishes. I see folks complain about the size, but aside from panning Sculpt a time or two, the blushes pack such a pigment punch that I use very little and they last forever! I have not had issues with them drying out or going rancid, and I've had duo #1 since it's initial release! All in all, extreme versatility, optimum performance, and their compact size, make these little gems must-haves for me!
When I opened this the first time I never dreamed I would still be using it two years later. It's so small. A little goes a long way. The light side is about half gone and the dark side is about 70% gone. I don't use it much in the summer as I tend to use powder contours and foundations in the summer. But I live in Minnesota and this is my jam for the cold months. Blends beautifully with liquid, gel or cream foundations. I use the Bdellium HP concealer brush and it works great (It's a big brush for a concealer and I have a small face).
Case in point, the Kevyn aucoin creamy glow duo. The reviews definitely helped me mentally prepare myself for how tiny the product actually is. But holy moly this tiny thing really packs a punch.
I've used my fingers to apply it. A beauty blender and a sponge too.
For the past two weeks, though, I've been using my elf small stipple brush and, personally, this has worked out the best. I dip the side of my brush into the sculpting shade, apply it under my cheekbones and stipple it upwards. Do that twice on each side then I do the same for my nose, spritz my urban decay setting spray all over and I'm all set with a natural-looking chiseled face. And I kid you not, this stuff lasts throughout the day. For something more dramatic/an evening look, I layer a powder (contouring) product over top and I'm good to go.
Powerful performance and a pretty packaging? Holy grail indeed.
This product was a miss for me, I am a hige fan of contour cream products and when my Mac coffee walnut was discontinued I decided to give this a try, the sculpting side though a great product is so so so tiny in a larger quantity I would definitely rebuy, however the candlelight cream product makes my skin oily and shows my pores as well as smear my eye makeup if I apply it close to eye area as a highlight. I do have very oily stubborn skin and tend to do much better with powder highlighters. The beauty is what is expected as well as the quality of K.A just a miss in general for me (:
