I wanted to love this product. Reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because it is a better formula than the original Lip Ammunition in my opinion. The packaging is more luxurious (magnetic close top, higher quality case). I love the JS logo imprints on the lipstick itself. The problem is, I just got it in the mail an hour ago & went to use it & it totally snapped at the base. I did not have it all the way up. I was not pressing hard. It’s actually not a formula that needs to be dragged with force across the lips. It glides on rather easily. I don’t know if it had sat in hot temps which caused the issue (FedEx showed it in California, Arizona, Texas, & finally Florida), or what? It’s my first time trying Velvet Trap. I am disappointed because I can’t get the lipstick to go back onto the base. It’s just totally unusable now. I also notice that it is quite dry for a lipstick. Again I don’t know if this is weather related. But I have reached out to Beautylish customer service to address the concern with the breakage. I also got the shade Watermelon Soda because I noticed the velour liquid lipstick shade of Watermelon Soda is totally sold out, so I wanted to try this because my current Watermelon Soda liquid lipstick has almost dried up. The Velvet Trap shade is way more orange than the liquid lipstick Watermelon Soda shade. I feel like the original is more of a pinkish orange / coral and the velvet trap version is more of just an orange coral. So that was also a disappointment. Overall, I would not purchase this again for shipping. Maybe if it were in a store to buy I would choose a different shade & hope the breakage issue wouldn’t occur.
