Beauty Product Reviews

I was surprised

It looks like a lil' flimsy thing in the launch video, but it has some surprising weight to it and is sturdier than it looks. I like that the packaging has the resealable zipper, so it's more like a soft case than packaging that just gets thrown away. The smooth side applies the cream foundation beautifully, and it also worked great for seamlessly working in my own liquid concealer.

He has spoken truth, but I won't take it under my eyes in the future

First of all, can we laugh that this man, who I think of as a pale and British person, and I, who I think of as a warmish, almost medium skintone person wear the same shade? I watched his product launch video, and I feel that every thing he said about the product is true, except I wouldn't bring it up under my eyes, it did not sit well there and I felt 200 years old. Everywhere else on my face however, beautiful!

I feel like a special butterfly

My first experience with Wayne Goss' blush palettes was Vivid Azalea, and that was not a good experience. And I know that it's not true, but I feel like Wayne made this color combo just for me! I have a warmish, light-medium skintone. Muted rose/peachy colors tend to be my best blushers. This color combo is so natural and subtle, and I am here for it. I also love that the highlighter is so finely milled, and is a shimmer/glow and not glittery/sparkly.

Hello Moisture

I bought this because it showed up as a cart special, and I'm really glad I did. HA is an ingredient that plays well with pretty much all other skin care ingredients so it's very easy to work into any routine. My favorite way to use it is to apply 2 drops to my face right after I get out of the shower and 1 drop to my neck, to really lock in all that moisture. I have oily skin, but this is great for increasing water content, without turning into an oil slick.

Like but don't love

This is the first Wayne Goss item I have ever purchased. The dark plum shade is my favorite, and I do love it. I do love the larger pans, because more often than not I apply my shadows w/ my fingers. My only real disappointment is the shade range w/in the palette, and the shade overlap w/ his other palettes. Which I'll admit, is something that's hard to balance. If this was my only palette in the world, I would want a black. But this isn't my only palette in the world, so it's a little annoying that the brown shade and gold topper shade are pretty much identical to the ones in his Topaz palette.

Definitely a $300+ value

Heyla,

I received lipsticks in Magnolia and Pecan. The Imperial Topaz Palette, the Vivid Azalea palette, and the Satin Bronze palette. Eye pencils in deep amethyst and obsidian. Gloss in Antique rose and cherry blossom. And Lip pencils in cinnamon, medium nude, and sepia.

I gave the Magnolia lipstick and cherry blossom gloss to my fairer friend because they seemed too pale for me. The texture of the lipstick is amazing, and I don't usually rock a nude lip, but Pecan was flattering, if not mind-blowing. The only Wayne Goss product I've previously bought was the Tourmaline palette. I was happy that the topaz palette had a black in it and a paler gold. The product I was most disappointed w/ was the blush, I know he says it's universally flattering, but both me and my friend tried it on, and we were both like.... no. The highlighter is amazing and both of us loved it. The satin bronze palette is good shades for my skintone, although I have to confess that I don't really use bronzer or understand it. The eye pencils are the creamiest in the universe and highly pigmented. I love the that the obsidian is really blackest black. The deep amethyst was also flattering. The medium nude and sepia lip pencils seemed to almost be the same color and were both misses for us. We tend to prefer darker lip liners. However, the antique ross gloss over the cinnamon lip pencil had me looking majestic and sultry.

So yes, you could spend $155 on products you *know* you like/want, but this was a very fun experience sitting on a couch w/ my bestie and seeing what we got.
