The be-all-end-all of pencil brushes!

This isn’t even a brush I thought I needed, but when I saw it I was intrigued. I have several pencil brushes I rely on, but they all accomplish the same task so I wasn’t too picky. For what I need, I use a hakuhodo g5526, though I found this brush too large sometimes, so for finer detail I’d use a Mac 219 or the kat von d shade light brush. The g5526 is soft and felt nice, but just didn’t give me the desired result and that’s probably my fault for ordering a brush that large. The mac and kat von d brushes got the job done, but always left my eye irritated because they were quite scratchy. Enter this gem - I’m able to run it across my bottom lash line and it leaves a heck of a payoff of color. But the best part is discovering other uses for this beauty, I’m now using this brush in ways I didn’t think possible: anything from laying color on the lid, to detailed crease work, to defining the outer v. If I had to pick one brush to take on a deserted island, it would be the chikuhodo z-10 as it will do anything you can think of for your eye makeup. Did I mention how soft it is? No more tears when this runs across your lower lash line, it feels as if you’re applying with butter. I will absolutely order another because of the endless possibilities and how often I will use it. Pics show the comparison between the three aforementioned brushes and the chikuhodo. If you’re on the fence, buy it and you will not regret your purchase.

The only foundation brush I’ll ever need!

I have a love/hate relationship with foundation brushes. I live buying them but each one continues to disappoint. I use Kevyn Aucoin sensual skin enhancer as a foundation, and I just could not find a brush that did it justice. I purchased the KA foundation brush that was designed specifically to use with the sensual skin enhancer and was almost 3x the price of this, but I found that it not only ate a ton of product up, but that it left my skin patchy and weird looking. I then tried all my other foundation brushes with it and did not like the way any of them performed. I finally went back to using a beautyblender, but really didn’t like the way that looked much either. I stumbled across this brush, and given the relatively cheap price, figured it was worth a shot but didn’t have high expectations. I used the same tiny amount of product to start with and began blending with this brush. It immediately left a perfect air brushed type quality finish, and left me with a significant amount of product left, so not only does this perform amazingly well, but I also save money from needing an even smaller amount of product to get the job done now. I haven’t used it with any other foundation yet, but I don’t see myself changing my foundation choice anytime soon, so this guy is a winner. Since beautylish doesn’t offer the pink version, which I wanted because the base is flat so it stands on my counter, I ordered through cdjapan but if you’re a frustrated foundation brush user, try this and I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed. I am shocked at how fairly priced this gem is, and will likely now order its black counterpart through beautylish just because I love getting packages from them.

This brush is a dream!

I’ve been collecting brushes for a couple of years now, but had gravitated towards hakuhodo mainly due to their huge selection and because they chikuhodo were harder to find (before I discovered beautylish!) I thought my hakuhodo brushes were amazing until I tried this chikuhodo. I cannot say enough about this brush. Initially I was fearful because it was so soft that I worried it wouldn’t pick up or deposit color properly, but with the smallest amount of product, this brush distributes the pigment evenly and perfectly. This brush by far outperforms my j5522, j146, and j142. The handle is slightly shorter, and it feels significantly lighter than the hakuhodo counterparts. I’ve included pics for comparison, but my only regret is not buying two because I have a feeling I’ll be using this guy constantly now. It’s the type of brush you wake up and look forward to using. It’s truly a dream!
