Beauty Product Reviews

Perfect for the price

For me it is a bit too big for applying contour, but I have not tried yet the technique Wayne Goss recomends for it.

I use it for blending and here it works wonders.

I have not found my perfect contouring brush yet, I want one that is smaller and still can apply powder contour well. It seems I am very picky, though. It works well for contouring the forehead for me, but does not work well for me for cheek contouring (caucasian cheeks with already high cheekbones, so need small contouring)

For the price it is just a very well done brush, I cannot find anything wrong with it. I don`t care if the handle is metal (as one reviewer put) I did not even notice :)

I might try the Surratt Contouring brush next.

Wow. I am hooked...Just purrrrrfect

I just bought this brush because a) Chikuhodo Z-1 was not in stock here, and b) I found it cheaper (around 160 Pound) somewhere else. But now I am hooked. I need more Surratt brushes....

It is just perfect. Dare I say for my needs it`s more perfect than the Chikuhodo Z-1, because it is incredibly soft, but dense and has "more shape" to it. It is less fluffy. For my needs it is just perfect. I use it as powder brush, for applying compact powders and loose powders for finishing.

I am sure it works also incredibly well for buffering. It is just such a perfect perfect perfect brush one cannot go wrong with. But the price tag is incredible.

It should last a lifetime, though...

Best artificial Hair brush

I own several natural hair brushes (Surratt, Sonia G, wayne Goss, Chikuhodo..) which I love to use for powder products.

This Baby here I love to use for everything with fluids. It can be used to apply loose or compact powder, gives a great finish.

I love to use it to blend out my fluid foundation, which I usually apply with my fingers anyway. It works just awesome giving a subtle finish and without disturbing the foundation.

I can only highly recomment this brush for everyone that loves to use cruelty free and vegan products. For me it seems like an in between goat and squirrel brushes regarding the softness of the touch.

Just wow

I did not know I needed Sonia G brushes, until I bought this one. It is one of the best for blending eyeshadows, and it seems softer (although this is certainly not the case) than Chikuhodo T-7 and almost similar soft like Chikuhodo Z-5 , but still denser and fuller in application. Will buy more of her. I own a few Wayne Goss, who I love, and most of Chikuhodo Z-Series, and the eyebrushes of Chikuhodo Takumi. This just feels like a good addition and to some even an upgrade :) Will buy more of her eyebrushes. I also like the handle, it seems perfect to hold the brush with it.

Love it the best setting powder brush for under eyes

It is an incredibly soft blue squirrel hair brush, perfect for highlighting and Setting powder under the eyes. I just ordered a second one. The Price is just amazing for the Quality. Unbelievable experience! I also read the Review of Sonia G. about that brush in comparison to others, which is quite helpful, too :)

I love this brush and want to stroke my face with it all day Long :)

I have to add: Yes the brush did smell a bit when I got it, too.... (my cat was looking funny at it and would not get off the brush... ehehehe)

But after one wash and dry the smell went away. After all this is natural brush and for a good price. The best price given the fact that this wonderwork plays in the league of brushes that cost minimum twice the price of this.

Will order more. Just an amazing product

Purrrfect quality

I stumbled across the Chikuhodo Z-4 when reading reviews on the Suqqu cheek. Long story short, for me this is the better quality brush for my choices. I use it for highlighting and sometimes blush (waiting for the Z-8 for blush, though...) and I simply love it. I want to use a different brush for all parts of my make up routine, but I am aware that the Z-4 is a multi-level wonder wizzard. The brush is soft, bunny soft, and I use the Chanel Joues Contraste blushes. I do have to "scratch" them with a tissue or something first, and then even the soft squirrel Z-4 can pick up this powder and deliver the perfect amount of product to your face. Just wonderful. I am curious as to how long they last? It says that 7 years is a good deal on their homepage. My last Powder brushes lasted longer, but - ok - they were roughed up after that :) and now that I replace them slowly (or less slowly, as I become a Japanese brush addict very fast - owning several Chikuhodo Z-series, Wayne Goss, and ordered Sonia G. and .....) I did order them just out of curiousity and they are perfect. Whetehr you like the Suqqu cheek more, I think this is just "complaining on a very high level" :) :) and the differences are so minimal, that they do not even matter. I got the Z-4 because it is a tiny little denser and I like that fact.
