Beauty Product Reviews

The texture of this sunscreen is so nice, you can barely feel it once applied. I really dislike sunscreens that feel heavy or greasy, or that have that dimethicone texture, and this didn't have either of those. In fact, it is so light that I will even wear it on my face, where I am extra picky! The texture makes reapplication really easy, too, and it rubs in very quickly. There was no white cast at all, even over my tattoos.

While I do like the smell (kind of a vintage sunscreen coconut scent), it does have fragrance and it does linger throughout the day. If you are sensitive to fragrance, this is not gonna be your sunscreen, but that is literally the only potential downside to this product. I am super impressed!

This is a great little brush to dedicate to and withstand using with acetone or nail polish remover. I've had mine for over a year and it's still in great shape. It's much more precise than a cotton swab and works well on skin and around the cuticle. I have not mastered the art of applying nail polish without flooding the cuticle, and I love this brush to clean up between coats as I go so that my nails looks neat and tidy after painting.

I find that it's helpful to have a tissue or something nearby to wipe the brush off on frequently. That way any polish that gets picked up by the bristles during cleanup can be deposited on your tissue before re-saturating the brush with remover. As you keep the bristles clean, you can pick up more polish easily, and after you're done the bristles don't end up glued together with nail polish. I do find that the brush can feel a bit stiff after drying with remover on the bristles, but as long as there's not much nail polish dried on then it will soften back up the next time you use it.

Beautiful and Unique Color

The shade Hatch is probably one of my favorite nail polishes that I own, the color is so unique and beautiful. It looks subtle and neutral but still interesting and stylish. It reminds me of natural stone, it's really really beautiful.

The formula is really easy to work with and remove. Even though the speckles are made with material suspended in the polish, it doesn't behave like a glitter polish, which I usually find very hard to remove and quite lumpy. Instead, it is smooth and opaque in 2 coats, and wears really well without chipping, and comes off with remover when you want it to.

Hydrating and Comfortable Lipstick

This cream lipstick formula is fantastic, they are very shiny but not too slippery, and feel very lightweight on the lips. The pigmentation is nice and opaque in one swipe, but can be blotted down if needed. They are not too thick, and don't just disappear after an hour or two, they wear really well and just feel hydrating and comfortable.

I like that there's no strong smell either, just a very subtle vanilla scent that you don't really notice once it's on. They remind me of the smell of MAC lipsticks, actually, which is no surprise since Mob co-founder Victor Casale was the founding chemist at MAC and created all their original iconic products and shades!

The shade M59 is a lovely spring pinky coral that's not too bright or neon but doesn't wash you out either. I'm fair with cool undertones, and it looks really gorgeous and fresh blended out on the cheeks as a blush, too! It's classically pretty.

The refills do work best if you use them in the lip capsule, which you can fill with any of the lipsticks or lip balms. The refills do come with a teeny clear cover for the lipstick, so save those if you want to swap around your refills into a single capsule instead of buying multiple.

Glass Skin Highlighter

These Hyaluronic Hightlight Balms are so beautiful and dewy on the skin. I have the shade M99, which is mostly clear with a tiny bit of iridescent sparkle. It does not have any color to it really at all, so this shade could definitely be worn by absolutely anyone.

It is a nice creamy yet lightweight formula, and stays looking dewy and glossy on the skin. It doesn't really dry down, but it's not sticky either, you don't really feel it at all. It doesn't highlight texture, and I can tell that it is hydrating, too, because it actually helps plump the little bit of dehydration texture I sometimes get on my cheekbones and under my eyes.

Such a perfect product if you are trying to achieve that glass skin look!

The Prettiest Easiest Curls

Okay, this works RIDICULOUSLY well. I have pretty long, mostly straight hair, and I really never style it usually, I just air dry and go. I got this on a whim and it really was not hard at all to use, and the results were SO PRETTY. Usually I wrap my hair when it is still slightly damp and then sleep on it. Every time I take it out and see the cascading curls, I feel like a model or an influencer or something, totally feeling myself.

A couple tips I have learned - I try to always grab hair from farther back on my head early on, so as much of the length hair can get wrapped and you don't just have a little baby curl only at the end.

It also really helps to have a claw clip to stabilize the rod as you are wrapping. I usually start with the rod clipped at the top of my head and go from there, and it also helps keep it from moving around a lot if you do decide to sleep with it in.

Once you've secured everything with the scrunchies, you can also bring the ends of the rods around and hook them together at the base of your head to keep them out of your way, like a pillowy halo.

Perfect Pale People Bronzer

If you are like me and all bronzers usually look orange on your pale skin with cool undertone, then M36 is the shade for you. It has absolutely zero orange or yellow to it, the pink makes it harmonize with my skin and still give warmth without being too dark or muddy. It's almost a blush/bronzer hybrid, and I can wear it just on the cheeks like a blush or all over for warmth and a little more life in the skin. The pigmentation is perfect and it's super blendable, it never looks patchy.

M36 is a really good dupe for the discontinued Benefit Dallas but fully matte with no pearl or frost. It's also really similar to Bobbi Brown Telluride, but slightly less pink. And, it's much more compact than those products, and refillable!

These eyeshadows are beautiful, very pigmented and easy to blend and layer. M1 is my favorite transition shade, it's a cool mauve that looks very neutral on cool toned folks and doesn't pull orange at all. I wear it on it's own for a simple look, but it also helps blend out deeper colors in such a flattering way on my cool fair skin.

These shadows are so easy to use with the Mob palettes, and I love that you can endlessly refill and rearrange your palette for whatever you need. The pans of these do have one side that is shaped a little flatter and one that is rounder, so they only fit side-by-side a certain way in the empty palettes. If it's not fitting, try turning it around so the round sides are on the edges and the flat side is in the middle.

Fantastic System

I really really love the palette system Mob has developed, these palettes are so slim yet sturdy, and I love that you can put pans of whatever Mob products you want in any arrangement, blush, shadow, cake liner, bronzer, etc. I just took a trip with my two 4+ palettes, one for creams and one for powders so that any fallout from the powders doesn't stick to the creams, and it was perfect. The 4+ is such a good size to handle and hold with one hand, not heavy or awkward, and of course they packed really well with no breakage in transit.

I still have several Z palettes and will continue to use them for my non-Mob makeup, but I know I am not the only one who has lost some products to de-potting mishaps, no matter how careful I try to be. I love that with the Mob palette you can slot your pans right in, and the holes in the back ensure that everything is always labeled accurately, stays in place with no sliding around, and you can see in the palette easily through the clear lid. Plus, way less waste from the start! The lid has a magnetic closure so it's easy to open but stays shut, and the inner cover part is easy to open if you need to rearrange. You can open the inner part by just gently inserting a fingernail into the center of the bottom edge, or use a paperclip in the tiny hole on the back of the palette.

One thing to note when putting your 1/2 sized refills into a palette is that the refill pans of these do have one side that is shaped a little flatter and one that is rounder, so they only fit side-by-side a certain way. If it's not fitting, try turning it around so the round sides are on the edges and the flat side is in the middle.

Beautiful 90s Color

I love Jessica Haze and I knew I wanted to buy the M102 lipstick as soon as I saw it, since I love a mauvey taupey kind of color, but I admit that it is a bit more brown on my skin than I was expecting, I don't really see any mauve in it. I do have very cool undertones though, so I think that it might pull more pink if you are warmer. Still, it is a great 90s kind of color, and is really fun to mix with different liners to adjust the shade.

The formula is absolutely stunning, I will definitely be buying the matte lipsticks in more colors when they are available. It's not drying at all, but also not slippery or silicone-y. It's buildable and super comfortable, not drying at all and very long lasting. It's not transfer-proof, but that's okay with me, it has everything else I like in a lipstick. A definite winner, and refillable!
