Soft and natural
I am a brush addict. This brush is soft, so i bought it. The finish is very natural. But later on I discover I want better more dramatic effect, so I bought the charlotte tilbury highlighting or contouring tapered brush and the wayne goss 02 brush. Both work better and has a more dramatic highlighting effect than this brush.
A bit disappointed
The matte is ok, but nothing spectacular. The shimmers are what I am buying this palette for but I am disappointed because it kinda floats on the surface of your skin. It doesnt matter if you are using your finger or brush. It doesnt really stick to your skin.
Violet Voss shimmer and Viseart Shimmer from the Theory Palettes are much better than Natasha Denona.
The only way I find the shimmers is less floating on top is when I use some MAC fix plus to the brush before applying. For such an expensive brand I expect it to work on its own.
My blending ability upgrades instantly
I bought both the anniversary set Vol.2 and the new version face set. I am a brush collector, I have mac, tarte, make up for ever, hourglass, tom ford, nars, bobbi brown....These brushes surpasses all I have ever tried and blending becomes so easy suddenly. Usually it takes me 30 minutes to finish a full makeup, now it has shorten the makeup to 15 minutes without deleting any steps. These brushes are so soft and they are pigmented. I was worried before because I have tried lunasol blue squirrel brushes which are too soft and cannot pick up any pigment. But these are soft and works. And the most important thing is that they blend in just a few strokes, making your makeup can be completed in a few strokes. Thank you Wayne Goss for releasing these high quality brushes. My next step is to save up more money and invest into Japanese Hakuhodo brushes.
For face brushes:
The foundation brush has a few brush strokes when used but has produced a very pressed to skin foundation.
The highlighter brush is phenomenal in applying highlight. Charlotte Tilbury applies too much highlighter for me. This is softer yet still pigmented and more natural.
The larger flat round brush, I have used for applying bronzer and blush. I like it for applying blush for a diffused natural blush. For bronzer, I feel the effect is too mild for my taste.
The contour brush is perfect for applying blush and contour for a more concentrated effect.
The dome shape brush is perfect to apply blush for a more sun-kissed high pigmented yet blended naturally look.
For Eye brushes:
The larger crease brush is slightly larger than my Asian eyes yet still usable. It blends wonderfully. Applying eyeshadow to the crease has never been so fast.
The small crease brush blending effect is less than the larger crease brush. It works for applying a larger outer V.
The pencil brush is perfect for applying outer V and highlighting eye corners.
The blending brush, I use it for concealer and it blends so well. It is also good for blending and applying eyeshadow.
The laydown brush is comparable to my Mac 239 which is my favourite brush of all Mac brushes. This applies eyeshadow with the highest pigment. I love it but wish for a larger version however. This is also useful for patting on cut crease eyeshadow for maximum opacity.
The flat liner brush I do not wear gel eyeliner, so I use it for applying concealer to do the cut crease look and it is so perfect. This is comparable to my favourite Nars white flat liner. For Nars, only that white flat liner and the smudge smokey thick liner brush are good. All other brushes, Mac and Make Up For Ever outbeats Nars. Now Wayne Goss outbeats Tom ford and all others.
