Beauty Product Reviews

Disappointed

Sunset and Lila are my two most very favorite palettes I own and use the most. They trump all other brands by a long shot. This Sunrise palette is different.... I understand formula is supposed to be the same but with just the pan sizes are smaller in order to offer it at more inclusive price point. Which I think is a great idea! The shadows themselves are different. The quality, the pigment, the blend ability are not on par with previous palettes. It’s most noticeable in the shimmer/metallic shades. They’re very sheer and are hard to pick up with brush or finger. The colors are beautiful and I wanted so badly to love this but it’s quite lackluster. I hope ND doesn’t skimp in the future to make cheaper palettes. Quality is NDs namesake. Please please please go back to the rich buttery pigmented formula we all know and love!

Top Notch

There wasn't a way for me to review Beautylish as a company so I'm leaving my review here under my review for the CT powder I purchased. I love the customer service and the prompt and fast processing and shipping. I really appreciate the three payment plan option. Sometimes I want splurge and treat myself to high end products but I don't always have the money to pay right up front. I love how they understand and make it possible for the average woman to obtain the otherwise unobtainable beauty products. I also love how much care and attention to detail that goes into Beautylish's packaging. It's always so put together and polished, never sloppy or just thrown into a box and shipped out. I always look forward to receiving my order in the mail. It's such a treat. Now for my review of the CT powder...The powder is lovey and soft and so finely milled. It's beautiful for a light finishing touch, even for my dry skin. Doesn't leave my my makeup cakey or patchy which I love!

My go to

I love this. It's perfect for creating soft, natural hair-like strokes and filling and shading sparse areas. The brow wiz is magic.

It's pretty but not necessary

I do enjoy this palette but I can't create an entire look with it alone. It's lacking transition and lighter matte crease colors. I have to pull out my other palettes to complete a simple eyelook. It is lovely but not functional. I was hoping this could be my go to essential travel palette but it's not. For $130 I would have hoped for a full spectrum of textures and tones.

Excellent value

I have unbelievably dry and sensitive skin so I love a good nourishing oil to pair with my cream moisturizer. I have been using Kiehls midnight recovery for about two years (it's wonderful) but it's so pricey and I use it up so quickly. I purchased this Rose Hip Oil in hopes of finding an affordable alternative. I'm pleasantly surprised how luxurious this oil is. I could tell immediately that it was excellent quality as soon as I opened it. This oil has that full substantial consistency feel to it, which is how I know it hasn't been diluted as most other brands do. The smell is a faint rose scent. Not an artificial rose scent, but a natural earthy scent. My face felt instantly quenched and soothed and lasted all day. Because this oil is so saturated and potent you really only need two or three drops to thoroughly cover the face, neck, and décolletage. This was my first Ordinary purchase and I can't wait to try more!

Essential

I was really excited about the release of this Lila palette. I love my ND Sunset palette but the Lila is much more ideal for me as an everyday go to palette. The color scheme is perfect for me. I have hazel eyes so I always gravitate toward purples and berry tones. I know I will get so much use from my Lila palette this fall and winter.
