Beauty Product Reviews

leaves my skin feeling super soft and hydrated!

although i live in a humid climate, my skin does need more moisture during the drier months so i picked this up in preparation. and wow wow wow, this performed so well under my sunscreen! my skin did not feel oily, just plump with much-needed moisture.

tip: use this while your toner isn't fully dried on your face for better absorption. on completely dry skin, the hyaluronic acid component won't perform well.

Instant hydration after one use

After using a harsh toner from a different brand, my skin was in desperate need of salvation. And since I had such a great experience with GM's facial oil and niacinamide toner, I figured the HA toner was worth a shot. So glad I took the chance! With only one use, my skin felt more moisturized and plump and I felt zero tightness. GM continues to impress me with their lower price point and effective ingredients.

Two things to note, however: 1) This comes in a glass bottle so be careful when handling, and 2) there is a slight tackiness post-usage and if your skin is recovering from dehydration, be mindful of the product you're planning to layer after.

Way too light for anyone darker than fair

While I'm able to pull off most nude lipsticks, this one made my lips waaaay too pale. But if you're looking to lighten a lip color without using white and you're darker than a fair skintone, you might wanna try this.

Great for dry skin

Although my skin is combination, it still dries up a ton during cooler weather and this facial oil is perfect for rehydrating it. Additionally, acne spots on my face either lighten or become less red whenever I apply it, which is an awesome plus!

Skip if you're hoping for a sharp, thin line

Initially looking for a thin liner brush for my hooded eyes, I eventually used this for brow powder or winged eyeshadow application. The widest part of the brush is, unfortunately, too wide for a clean line.

Inflexible holes and cover

I kinda regret not reading the more recent reviews before purchasing this... I'm thoroughly disappointed by the lack of flexibility in the holes. Neither my Real Techniques brushes nor bigger face brushes could fit in the larger spaces most likely due to how stiff the material is. Although I was looking forward to the easel aspect, it's also quite a challenge to bend the cover back and turn it into the easel. I was seriously terrified of snapping the entire thing into half!

I was initially excited for this product to arrive but it's been a letdown instead. Will be contacting the team for a possible refund.

Not as great as the gel version but still wonderful all the same

Given how much I loved the performance of the AMC gel liner, I decided to get the pencil version, especially since I was on the hunt for one. The black pigment coated my waterline perfectly although I had to finesse it on my sensitive eyes since it came with a really sharp tip. It lasted pretty long too! I napped with my outer corners lined and woke up with it intact. Very tempted to buy the entire collection now!

A little goes a long way

I recently developed a strange dryness on my forehead and along my temples. A relative recommended using rosehip oil, which she used for her oily skin, and raved about how great it was. So on my next BL order, I added this particular one from The Ordinary.

At first, it didn't work as well as I'd hoped it to. Despite religious applications before bed, my skin still felt tight and dehyrated in the morning.

After many failed attempts, I discovered that the key to making the oil work was to apply lightly and in layers, building up wherever needed. Then my skin felt more nourished and moisturized the next day.

For the price, the oil seriously is a miracle in a bottle. My skin feels softer too. I'm looking to try other products in the range.

Solid hairbrush; perfect for traveling AND everyday use

I bought this product impulsively, especially since I no longer had one and I wanted a hairbrush that had a firm back so that washing would be easy. Although pricey, it performed well and I'm expecting longevity.

Tried many and this one wins by far!

First of, this lip scrub is definitely delicious! Like another review mention, it has a tiny bit of a "makeup" taste, sort of like an old-timey lipstick. But nothing that will irritate your stomach.

I use this after I brush my teeth so my lips are slightly moistened. Leaves my lips super moisturized and soft, but I still follow up with a heavy duty lip balm (Vaseline, usually). Really feels good and I will definitely repurchase from the range once I run out.
