Returned it!

Thank god, I did not purchase this on sale or else I would be more upset that I got hustled. This color looks nice in the bottle, I was very excited for a peachy nude, but I pulls a lot of yellow when I have it applied....which is another drama. Very streaky, patchy as many have said.

So in the end, not worth $18, not even worth $9. This was a bust and I was not surprised to see this whole collection get tanked. I purchased 2 of the 5 colors Nude Beach and Watermelon Soda). Im sad for all the beauty lovers who paid $9 for this poor product.

Even the packaging was lesser quality. I had these colors in my possession for a few weeks, kept in the box, only played with them 1-2 before deciding to return and already the logo and design was peeling off. I own a few other JS lip colors and the lettering and logo are still going strong. My personal opinion is that JS as a company is growing increasingly fast and are rushing to meet demand and maintain interest, but are short changing quality control or compromising brand integrity to maintain an image.

great colors and quality

This was my introduction to the JS lipsticks. I feel that it is a great starter kit with essential and very practical colors that I can wear everyday to work. They are not super unique colors, however they are special due to the packaging, scent, brand etc. I have similar hues from the new launch of the Milani amour matte lip cremes and aside from scent and color differences, I would not be able to tell them apart on my hand or lips. The texture, application, and longevity are all great.

Mannequin is by far my favorite. Rose Matter is a very flattering pink, not obnoxious or crying for attention. Gemini is cute, not my fave..a little to brown on me so it channels the chola lipstick in me. Also, only in the gemini bottle I have noticed the color is leaking out and very messy. I have to clean it off every so often which is a waste of product. FYI, I keep all my lipsticks standing in an acrylic base.

All hype, no substance or quality. For $18 I expect a smooth application. However, this 714 color applied very streaky, required to much work for mediocre results.

Not worth it. I care more about my money than packaging, celebrity. I do own several other JS colors that I definitely do recommend i.e: mannequin, rose matter are top notch.

Awesome JS essentials!

This was my first JS purchase after getting sucked into all the hype. I was not disappointed. The packaging is great, colors are awesome, product quality is some of the best. I have similar colors from Milani that I swatched next to the JS colors & they are all slightly different but equal in the love that I have for them.

Mannequin is a hit, I'm constantly asked what I'm wearing.

Cute but NO!

Color looks great in the yellow packaging, but sadly it ends there. Let's keep it real, who is this a flattering color on? I respect that makeup is art but this doesn't even meet that standard. Very bright to the point that lip definition is lost, patchy & streaky. After researching various YouTube videos including JS I noticed that there are few close up shots of this color. Everyone does mention that it applies streaky but they don't show you. More importantly they don't mention how gross your lips feel because you have to layer it so much to cover patches. I'm 75% sure I'll be returning.

I will try mixing it with other JS colors that I own (which defeats the purpose of buying it for it unique color)

Patchy.

Can't deny or discredit that this is a beautiful color, beautiful packaging & fun smell. HOWEVER, it can also not be denied that it applies very patchy. It is difficult to work with as many have mentioned prior to me. Refrigerating does help; but come on you have to refrigerate it to get it to work a little better...not great, just a little better. I will keep it, because I can take the extra time to make it work but I would not recommend or at least I would encourage you to look for alternatives in similar colors. FYI: I own 7 JS lip colors. Mannequin, Gemini, rose matter, I'm nude, nude beach & 714. Some hits & some major missed that I'm still trying to decide if I should return.
