No dupe for this

I ordered this brush along with the Sonia G crease one.

My initial thoughts when comparing the two were that they were the same size and similar in softness. Rae Morris is grey squirrel and Sonia G’s is blue squirrel. I was so sure I would return the Rae Morris because they were seemingly the same brush? After using the two for a week, I actually use them for two different purposes. The Rae Morris is oh so slightly softer, which might just feel that way because it is fluffier than Sonia G’s crease one. Sonia G is more densely packed and definitely picks up more product than the Rae Morris.

This brush feels so good for smoking out the bottom lash line and gives the most perfectly blended out look without having to pull on my delicate under-eye area. I’m reaching for this brush for any eye look I am doing. Whether it’s to do a precise application in my crease or outer-v without picking up too much pigment. I love this brush. My only complaint about it is that I don’t think the handle is well balanced. It’s really light and almost feels like it might be hollow. I think Tom Ford brushes are perfectly weighted and have that luxurious feel you want from a brush in this price point. I’ve actually dropped this Rae Morris a couple times because it is so light. Other than the “feel” of the brush in my hand, the performance is amazing.

I have comparison shots of the Tom Ford pencil, Chikuhodo Takumi T-8 small eyeshadow, Sonia G Crease One, and the Rae Morris. The Tom Ford was put in there just as a reference for size.

Best brush for a FAST eye look

This brush is one of my most used eye brushes. I love the firmness of the hairs that make for a precise application, but the hairs are not scratchy at all. This packs my "all-over-the-lid" color in one perfect swipe, picking up just the right amount of product. Because it is firm, even with the larger shape of this brush, I can get into my inner corner without spreading product in places I don't want it go. This completes my eye look so quickly when I'm in a rush. Great with cream shadows and powders. It's also great for brow bone highlighting or even precise face highlighting above the cheekbones. It is not fluffy at all, so this really is just precise application and blend out with a different brush. This is a must have for any makeup lover!

Perfect for highlighting!

The unique pointed shape and not very dense bristles make this perfect for highlighting your brow bone with even the most shimmeriest highlighters for a more subtle look. picks up just the right amount of product for a more natural highlight of the brow bone. The point allows me to get right under my eyebrows with precision and also when applying on the highest points of my cheekbones. Very soft and great quality for being the "cheaper" line of Chikuhodos. Would also be great at subtle contouring of your nose.

Does smudge on oily eyelids

This definitely glides on like butter. So easy to do a sharp line with this gel liner because the formula is so easy to work with. It's also very very black. I did find that after 9 hours, it smudged. I have hooded eyes and also oily lids, so 90 percent of eye liners smudge on me. Still a great formula.

Horrible

Purchased these because of two reasons: the name of the style "Are Those Real?", which would imply they're pretty natural looking. They definitely aren't if you have short Asian lashes like I do. Can't really fault them for that because it's not their fault for me being born with the most pathetic excuse for lashes. And second reason because they were a longer use pair than my go to of Ardells. When I received them, I loved the softness of the lashes, but didn't think they looked any better than my Ardells. I immediately noticed that the band was thicker, which I assumed contributed to it being able to be used more than 20 times.

Now the reasons for the one star review. They are ridiculously uncomfortable. Maybe it's my almond eye shape or the fact that the band is so thick. I wore them twice and I couldn't close my eyes with them on because the ends would dig into my eyes. Even with my eyes open, I could always "feel" the band, in an annoying way. Almost like I had something in my eyes. Which leads to another reason why I couldn't stand them. Because the band is so thick a lot of glue adhered to the surface and so much of it was left on the band after taking them off. When I would try to gently pull off the remaining glue at the end of the night, which was Duo eyelash glue, a couple strands of the lashes were pulled off. So I immediately tried a gentler alternative of putting eye makeup remover on the band. When I did this, the lashes just completely came off the band. Almost like my eye makeup remover melted the adhesive that kept the mink strands attached to the band! They didn't come with specific care instructions, other then to remove all remaining glue off after each use. I threw these away after TWO uses! What a waste of money! Never purchasing these again.

Maybe mine was defective?

I just started using Chikuhodos from Beautylish recently and really fell in love with them after ordering the GSN-1 powder brush. So I've been acquiring more and got the GSN-2 because all the reviews said it was awesome at liquid, creme, and mineral foundations. I used it on my liquid foundation when I first got it and fell in LOVE! The finish was beautiful and it didn't absorb a ton of product. It shed a couple hairs from the first few uses, but I knew it was normal for a new brush and didn't think anything of it. Then I tried this brush for applying my mineral foundation and was blown away at how quickly I got it done and the beautiful finish. But on its 5th use after purchasing, it shed a clump of hair with glue on it, and my love affair with this thing just died. Never had this happen before to even my cheap brushes when I first started using brushes, let alone my other high end Japanese ones. Hope this was just a dud that I received and not characteristic of Chikuhodos because I would love to expand my collection. I attached a picture of what came out of the brush.

Beautiful quality and unique shape

So soft and amazing quality. The shape is so unique I almost want to keep it for just that reason. As for an eye brush, it was a no go for me. I tried this as an all over the lid shading brush, but find the somewhat fluffy tip to not get into the inner corner with the precision I want. As for blending out harsh lines, it doesnt blow you away. I use it to highlight and contour my nose, but I have other brushes I like better for those tasks. I haven't found its niche.

Awesome all over powder brush

Needless to say, this brush is amazingly soft! I chose this because I wanted a mix of blue squirrel and goat for my oily combo skin. I need a little bit more powder to set my face than what just blue squirrel can pick up. The density and shape are perfect. Only reason why it's getting 4 stars is the size. It's a bit bigger than what I like for setting loose powder. I want more control when setting my face and therefore prefer something smaller.

Just meh

Got this brush because I prefer either the BB or a dense buffing brush to apply my foundation. This is definitely super soft for a synthetic brush. The pros are that it doesn't leave a streaky finish and is so soft on your face. For these reasons it's a great brush. Now for the cons, and actually the only con, it diffuses ANY foundation I use with this to a sheer or semi-sheer coverage. Why? This brush drinks up my foundations. Even FULL coverage foundations like Estée Lauder Double Wear go on semi-sheer where I need to build coverage. I've never had to do that with that foundation. I find myself going back with my concealer like crazy with this. i also find that really getting into the corners of my eyes and sides of my nose are difficult with this brush. It's not as densely packed as other buffing brushes.
