Beauty Product Reviews

Smells amazing, feels amazing!

This smells incredible - Oribe products smell so good but their haircare just doesn't work for me. This + their fragrance rollerball let me enjoy the scent without dealing with hair damage. Overall fantastic scrub and the price isn't too bad though I wish it was larger. I'll continue gifting this and buying for myself occassionally.

Mild cleanser leaves skin feeling fresh!

The lather on this cleanser is impressive! It rinses off easily and leaves skin refreshed. I have dry skin that tends toward dehydration and this didn't leave my face feeling tight. There is a mild soapy scent but it disappears quickly. Overall, highly recommend for anyone looking for a gentle but effective cleanser that won't strip your skin - this will work for all skin types.

Love! Not sticky. Leaves skin radiant.

This is the best hyaluronic acid serum I've tried yet! Very impressed with it - absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a sticky residue. I follow it up with oil and it just glides over the skin. Highly recommend!

If 'heart eyes cat emoji' were a product...

I absolutely love this! I wasn't sure how it would compare to my old favorite (Buffet by The Ordinary) but it matches up well and left my skin feeling bouncy yet firm. No issues with breakouts or skin texture, it smoothed everything out beautifully.

First of all, it doesn't smell as bad as my old rosehip seed oil

We all know and love the benefits and skin-feel of rosehip seed oil but the smell is something to get used to, especially if you thought it would smell like roses (me the first time I bought some)! This one doesn't have a very noticeable scent and the it absorbs much faster than some others I have tried!

My favorite part is the velvety skin finish it leaves me with! I have dry, dehydrated skin so it's a treat to have my cheeks feel so smooth after pressing this in.

Pro tip - because it's so dense, do press it into your skin rather than rubbing it.

The only change I would make would be having a longer tip on the cap - it's hard to hold without long nails!

My queens (and kings), if you know anything about me you know that I don't ever say people NEED a specific product. This is probably the closest thing to an actual makeup 'need' I can think of.

Despite my dry skin I have somewhat oily lids - yet this product stays on without any issues! I usually use a primer first, but you don't have to. The whipped texture blends beautifully even on a tacky primer and can be applied with fingers or any kind of brush.

All the shades I've tried are opaque, vibrant, and long-lasting. I've used this on clients with dry lids, textured lids, etc - no issues!

If you have wrinkly lids or hooded eyes (as I do), I'd suggest a semi-tacky primer (think UD, or Too Faced shadow insurance vs. a creamier base like MAC paint pots) to prevent creasing. You CAN apply cream over powder as well, so if you like to top your primer with a bit of translucent powder, never fear. If you do that before using Eyes to Mesmerize, just pack on the product before you start blending.

Incredible scent, nice texture, luxurious after-feel

The scent of this scrub is *phenomenal*. It's more floral than I expected, but in no way powdery. I'd liken it to a modern floral fragrance - without rose or powder, but with a complex blend of flowers.

The texture was great for my dry skin, quite thick with fine and larger granules. I recommend doing this after a chemical exfoliant and body wash, since it leaves a lovely and luxurious softness to the skin thanks to the floral oils.

One star is removed for the value of the product - I just don't think it's quite worth $90. This is a very high quality scrub, but only 200ml of product. I think $90 would be reasonable for ~300ml of this scrub. I'll continue to purchase this but only as a treat for special occasions.

My favorite nail polish brand!

I absolutely adore this brand. The formula is impeccable and not a single shade has let me down. Full coverage, no weird bubbling or texture, and they actually last about a week (which is a long time for me).

Just a note - the caps are *supposed* to be dented. It's part of the brand's aesthetic. For easy application with more control, just pull off the metal cap and then twist off the the black plastic cap below and use that to hold the wand.

Gorgeous formula, perfect size for travel

I actually prefer the smaller size and wish I could get even more shades - I love lipstick and have only ever finished THREE full sized lipsticks. I hate the wastefulness of a full sized tube, personally.

I did take one star off because these are very small for the price. It makes sense, since the packaging is still high quality and beautiful and it's easier to create precise sharp lines with the smaller tip, but $13 each is steep. That said, a full sized lipstick from this brand is $34 for 3.5g and this set is $32 for 3g, with the added benefit of trying three separate shades.

In terms of the product itself, it's phenomenal. I already knew I loved Charlotte's formulas, and in this trio there's one cream finish (the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula) and two 'modern-matte' finishes (the Matte Revolution formula). Neither is drying, and I find the lipsticks leave a slight stain which can be amplified when worn over a thin layer of balm.

The shades are stunning, and if like me you won't go through these specific colors in the full sized tubes but still want to try them out, do the math to see if it's worth it for you.

Didn't work for me, but is holy grail status for my partner!

If I were reviewing only for myself, I'd have to give this conditioner 1 star (for the scent, which is incredible). My hair is fine and dry, and the Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner seem to emphasize dryness and create a frizzy yet stringy straw-like texture.

However, my partner is obsessed with this line! It hydrates, softens, and strengthens her very long and very thick, dense hair. We buy the liter sizes now and I don't think she'll ever switch to anything else.

Between her 5 stars and my 1 I'm rating this an overall middle of the road 3. The scent is phenomenal and it works beautifully when it works. If your hair is thick - as in, each strand is thick, not just a lot of hair! - you may love this. If your hair is prone to dryness, proceed with caution. Luckily Beautylish has an amazing return policy if it doesn't work out :)
