High pigmented, great lasting power
I loved this mini set, I picked it up during the sale a few weeks back. I enjoy all four colors, they leave behind a really nice stain too when they (finally) fade. No issues with sinking in lip lines or drying my already dehydrated lips, but I do prep with lip conditioner overnight, and make sure there’s a little bit left on my lips in the morning before I apply these shades with a brush. I then usually top that off with a layer straight from the tube.
Love that they are not scented!
Shade pictured is Matisse.
Sinks into lines
I've been eyeing this product since it was first introduced on Beautylish so when I saw this set on sale during the summer sale, I had to get it. Unfortunately, this formula did not live up to my expectation. This has got to be one the worst high-end lipstick formula I've ever tried. The formula sinks into your lip lines, especially the darkest shade in the set #5 Matisse which applies super patchy - the more you apply, the more patchy it gets. The other colors are not patchy, luckily...but they still sink into lines. They are also not that long-lasting. It fades away unflatteringly. For this price tag, even with the sale (it was $44!), this is just not worth it. There are better lip products out there. If you're looking at a lipstick set to gift out, I would rather go for the VDL Expert Color Real Fit Velvet Mini Lipstick Kit and it's slightly cheaper. The colors are not even that unique. Save your money!
Gorgeous gift idea
I love Lina Choo and this mini is a great addition to my collection, Frida alone is stunningly gorgeous for the summer, or for summer vibes in this endless UK winter.
The lipsticks continue to be high impact and long lasting. I don't feel they're as creamy as the originals but it doesn't bother me too much. It could be my current lipsticks are so worn down they feel like butter.
Downsides are if you own the orange shades Da Vinci and Van Gogh, Raffaello is very similar. Also I am not a fan of vampy lips, would have preferred a more reddish burgundy colour than Matisse; or even a deep electric purple. I will warn you that the lipsticks seem quite small, they are mini, however the quality is impeccable. I would recommend this collection to anyone who is curious about Lina Choo, but hasn't bought any of the previous collection. If you wanted one full size shade go for Botticelli (or Duras) if you like nude colours or Shakespeare for a daring red.
Ultimately I want Frida full size 😘🥰 and would happily buy the set as a gift for friends who are into makeup 💄🎁
