Beauty Product Reviews

I am on my 2nd COVERGIRL LashBlast Luxe

Love it, it is fancy! The shimmer in it is very very subtle but adds a slight sheen. It gives my whimpy Asian lashes a boost~ And the best part about this mascara is that it doesn't smudge, so no panda eyes! It is also very easy to wash off :)

pigmented

The CVS next to me was having 40% off all Maybelline products, what a perfect excuse to try their new Eye Studio eyeshadows :D

I bought Eye Studio in 20 Saphire Siren, and Eye Studio in 80 Pink Persuasion.

The 20 Saphire Siren is super pigmented and the pink palette is more natural and very wearable!

stays on all day!

I started using bareMinerals many many MANY years ago, way before Sephora started selling it, when they were only seen on tv infomercials, and when no one has even heard of mineral foundation. I bought my bareMinerals kit after seeing it on tv the summer after my freshmen year in college, I remember very clearly because that was the summer my cousin came to stay with us :)

Anyway, I remember trying the Multi-Tasking Concealer in Bisque and not liking it a whole lot, because it doesn't match my skin tone exactly and whenever I used this, it looked like I had weird colored patches on my skin. Since then the Bisque had been stored in the very back of my makeup drawer. But about a month ago, I decided to give this another try after many years of neglecting it. I think my application of this was wrong before... I used to apply this with a somewhat stiff eyeshadow brush which would leave a very concentrated amount of powder on my skin. But now, I started applying the Bisque with a softer blending brush and it works beautifully. What I do right now for my blemishes is that I use cream concealer first, and use my blending brush to apply the Bisque over the concealer to set it. But for the redness around my nose, I only use the Bisque (and no other concealer) to neutralize the redness. I then proceed to apply loose powder all over my face. The Bisque stays on all day and I am really loving it :) I know there are a lot of Bisque fans out there, I wasn't one of them before, but now I am .

defines! doesn't smudge at all!!

it is probably the best mascara for definition and separation.

The brush has both long and short bristles - the long ones are for lengthening and short ones are for volume. The package reads "Clump-free volume, Even separation, Dramatic length, Enhanced curl, Soft lashes, Buildable drama, Quick drying, Smudge proof, Long lasting, Water resistant"

As for length and volume, it is pretty good, but not amazing. As for curl, it is great, my lashes didn't get droopy at all. So it really depends on what type of mascara you are looking for, if you want defined and well separated lashes that lasts all day and doesn't smudge under normal daily activities, the Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die For Mascara might be the mascara for you :)

best selling makeup item of all time

Ah, the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, who doesn't love them?? There is a reason why this is the one of the best selling makeup items of all time, regardless of brand! I have the one in pink, and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! Here are the reasons why:

1) The compact lasts a really REALLY long time; I've had this for about 3 years and barely made a dent! 2) It is multi-functional, you can wear it on the cheeks or on the eyes, you can wear all the colors together or use each color individually. 3) You can wear this alone or layer it over your other blushes to create your custom color. There are many color combinations to choose from (I think the Pink might be limited edition? I'm not sure). 4) The colors can be sheer enough for day time and is buildable for a more glamorous look at night.

I used to only wear this at night but lately I've been wearing it daily to the office, of course I only apply a little bit so my coworkers don't think I am crazy =p

soft, feminine, and glowy pink :)

This product doesn't have great reviews online however, the main complaint is that the colors are too pale and doesn't show up at all. I also feel that yes the colors are not that pigmented, but it just requires a different type of application...

Since it isn't that pigmented, I always use my Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher Brush which is stiffer than typical blush brushes.

I am really loving this combination - the Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher Brush applies the product very well to the apples of the cheeks, and the overall effect is very soft, feminine, pink glowy cheeks :)

To sum up: 1) This is not a very pigmented blush 2) This probably only works on pale complexions as a soft blush; on darker complexions I would say only use this as a highlighter 3) The color doesn't show up easily when applied with a fluffy brush, so applying with a stiffer brush is recommended

If applied correctly the result is soft, feminine, and glowy pink :)

absolutely LOVE this!

I received an invitation from Neiman Marcus La Mer to try their Eye Concentrate and was able to score a deluxe sample jar :) This was probably more than a year ago but I kind of forgot about it and just remembered not too long ago so took it out from my drawer and started using it. And I have to say, I LOVE IT! I don't apply it with the applicator because I don't really know how?? I simply use my ring finger to apply.

I've completely used it up because this is a GREAT eye cream, I especially LOVE that it is non greasy and absorbs so quickly!! I love using this in the mornings because of its quick absorption.

The La Mer Eye Concentrate is an ultraluxe eye treatment that dissolves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. I can't tell how well this dissolves lines/wrinkles/circles/puffiness because I don't really have these problems yet... but I can say that it makes me feel really good about my eye area and perhaps helps prevent potential eye area problems?

hard to use, ashy

I originally purchased this to use as a primer before applying mineral makeup, but I don't like it at all! It doesn't look natural, it makes my face look white :( The included brush is too rough. I also tried applying with my other brushes, and with a light hand but still couldn't get it to work the way I wanted it to work. So ya.... frown :(

I have the hydrating mineral veil and i like it a lot! it leaves a slight sheen but it is not glittery. it also feels like a slight mist when you put it on, probably because it is made out of water. i noticed that i am running low on my mineral veil after only using it daily for 2 months, i wish it contains more product so it doens't run out that quickly.

i bought this after watching many raving reviews on youtube, and I like it a lot! it really does give you a very healthy look. the coverage is buildable and looks natural. it is said to be a dupe of the nars glow foundation, but i wouldn't say this is very glowy, it just looks like normal healthy skin :) very good quality foundation that is very affordable :D

One thing I dont like is the open bottle, it can get messy because it doesn't have a pump so you might accidentally pour out too much or spill it =/
