meh.

I really like the packaging and the smell of the balm, but overall it really wasn't a game changer for me. The balm is a tad on the thin side for my liking, so it doesn't stay on for as long as I'd like it to. Just expected it to moisturize my lips a bit more.

S'okay.

I like these enough to have two of them, but not enough to go gaga over them. Mainly because they don't last as long as I was expecting them to. Ease application is great, color is easily adjusted but I just wish they would stay on my face! I've actually started setting them with just a light touch of NARS' powder blush and they've lasted longer. Portofino is great for both cheeks and lips (with clear gloss on top) and Maldives is a great highlighter or eyeshadow base (make sure you use primer or it will crease in a flash!). They're good to have on the go and fun little things.

Meep!

Okay, so if I was a newcomer to the Chanel foundation game, this would get five stars. I buy far too much Chanel, so I tend to compare red delicious apples to granny smiths. I was absolutely head over heels in love with the foundation they discontinued (teint innocence), so much so that I stocked up on it the minute I found out, before they released this one, so I can't help comparing the two.Vitalumiere aqua starts out great--natural with enough coverage/evening out of my skin tone (which made me happy because it reminded me of teint innocence), but throughout the day it gets kind of cakey on me, regardless if I set with powder or not. The feel is really nice, though--which is to be expected of Chanel products--basically feels like nothing.

I think this is one I'll have to put on the back burner for a bit and then maybe return to it.

Game changer!

Who was I before I bought this? I have no idea.

Seriously though, this is an amazing system. Sure, it's on the pricey side (It was on sale and I had an employee discount, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been for me) but it's completely worth it. I would even say that even if I didn't have my discount. On to the actual product....my skin is smoother, clearer, more even in terms of skin tone, and just all together more fabulous. Also, my makeup looks soo much more natural when I put it on after using this. I personally don't care all that much for their cleansers, so I've been using my own products and it's been fabulous. I also really like the body brush head--makes my prone to dryness skin very smooth and touchable.

Killing it!

So, I was actually kind of reluctant to buy this at first. I was afraid the shadows were just too neutral and the palette would just end up sitting in my make up case. However, I've actually owned a few of the shades before from a previous palette, so I knew I would at least like those. But, seriously this is the perfect palette for everyday wear. Anyways, on to the shades...there is enough variety to create a multitude of looks. One of my favorite things, though, is to take Virgin and put it on the inner corners of my eyes. Really makes your eyes pop. In terms of pigmentation--they aren't highly pigmented, but they are definitely pigmented enough (if that makes sense!), so it doesn't take a lot of product to get a good coloring on the lid. Also, UD shadows are always really smooth, so blending them is always super easy. And I'm always game for another shadow brush! YAY!

So, basically, buy it. Disappointment really isn't an option.

Tarring it up.

I'm totally hooked on these things. I love not having to worry about my lipstick when I'm at work or when I eat/drink. Also, the pigment is outrageous!! I just got the primary 6 pack, so I've been playing around creating my own colors, which is loads of fun. My words of advice in dealing with these. . .1. invest in a clear liner (I like the Urban Decay one) and line them lips, grrl! Otherwise the possible feathering is just not cute. 2. don't put too much on. It won't set if you put too much on and it gets all over your teeth (not a good look in my opinion) 3. TINY angle brush. You'll need it. and 4. have some sort of lip exfoliator for before and a lip conditioner for after. If you have dry lips before hand, it will just enhance that. Also, you need the conditioner for when you take off the lip tar because these do tend to dry out your lips a tad.

I was on the fence about these before ordering, but I figured I should give them a shot. When I put the first one on (an awesome color called reverb), I was surprised how great they are, so give them a try!

It's a Love Affair

I absolutely love the Hydramax line. I've been using this as my moisturizer for years and every time I try something different I always end up coming back to this. It's perfect for those of us who have dry skin regardless of the weather. It's so soothing, calming, and smells divine. Price wise, it is more than some moisturizers, but it is also less than other ones including some in other Chanel lines. If you're on the fence because of the price, then I would get a sample and give it a test drive.

Classic.

NARS is one of my go to blushes and admittedly I own quite a few of them. . .from the classic Orgasm (effortless, universal, etc), doucer (mauve, matte a little more interesting of a color to play with), to albatross (one of my all time favorite highlighters. . .enough pigment without looking too painted on). They provide a great color pay off with a little bit of product and will last me throughout the day. Everyone should have at least one of these in their collection! :)
