I always make sure the water I'm using is Luke warm, it seems like the polish spreads better. A smaller bowl helps as well. Oh! And new nail polish! I usually use l.a colors when doing the water marble technique. They're cheap ($1.99 at Fred Meyers). Hope my tips helped :)
