Some tips I have is that if this is the first time you're trying to get the stiletto nail shape from a normal flat shape, you should start out by filing the nail into an oval shape first for the first couple of manicures, that way the nail will start getting its narrow elongated shape. Which I think is the most important part of the look.

Then after those couple of times, you can grow out your nail and start shaping it into a point. Also it’s easier to shape your nail if you have some length to it. There’s more room to get to that perfect point.

I would also recommend a nail strengthener to keep the nails from breaking because they usually have more length on them. My favourite is the OPI Nail Envy.

Hope these tips were helpful. Let me know how it goes for you 

They look great! Did you shape them yourself? If so can you give me some tips? I tried to shape my own like this but they looked really weird. Maybe my nails are too wide for this shape?

Thank you Victoria :)
I do shape them myself. If you have wider nails, it will just take a bit of time to sharp them into a more overall narrower shape. By that I mean that you might not get the exact shape the first couple of times, you need to keep shaping them for a while before they will get that more elongated look.

Most importantly you want to take the nail file (I find metal files to be the most effective because they are slimmer and easier to shape the nail with) and file down the sides of the nail first, this will make the overall nail less wide. Once you've finished filing the sides you want to file on one side of the nail pushing up in a diagonal motion to create the pointy tip. Repeat that slowly until you get the one side to your desired shape and then repeat on the other side.

A rule of thumb for me is that I want to make sure the top part of the nails after I’m done filing looks like a triangle (the white part of the nail). Then finally you can round out the top to make it not so sharp. You should then have some stiletto nails!

I hope that description was helpful!
