Beauty Product Reviews

so much love!

I am not a LUSH product person. What I mean by that is - I don't have drawers full of LUSH products, but this is the one out of two that I own (the other is Bubble Gum Lip Scrub). Mostly, I am afraid of developing an addiction and spending all my money on the bath items, so I am trying to pace myself...

I purchased the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter after I saw a few reviews on this product by ladies with beautiful nails. I have frail nails and my cuticles dry out quickly, which bothered me a lot and I thought I'd try it out.

Once I went into the LUSH shop and smelled the product, I knew I'd actually use it (I keep forgetting to use cuticle oils all the time, because they are so messy and don't always smell as good). The smell is pretty strong, so if you are not into such strong smelling products, you will not like it. However - everything at LUSH smells strong, so you must have guessed that already.

Every time after I use this, my cuticles are so soft and happy, and so are my hands. This is perfect, especially during winter. You may want to use it and massage your cuticles while you are watching TV or something, because your fingers will get quite greasy for a bit and you don't want to touch things that will keep the oil.

If I had to pick one LUSH item, it would be this, especially for those with not so perfect cuticles. It feels so nice, you will not regret it.

I was really interested in trying out this powder, because I've heard quite a few good things about it and I've had a hard time finding a setting powder that does not cake up easily or clog my pores.

I ended up picking the Translucent shade, because it's the safest for any shade of foundation that I own (incase I change color summer-winter wise). First off, like with most loose powder products, the jar was not completely full of product, but in the case of La Mer The Powder, it was less than half full, which threw me off quite a bit. Not only is the jar fairly small and very thick (which makes the inside of the jar even smaller, hence less product), but it's not even halfway full. I understand that they sell by weight, but it's such a pet peeve and makes me feel like I am being ripped off. This is definitely a con for me.

The wearability of this is pretty decent. I have oily combination skin, with super oily forehead, and I can go about 5 hours with this stuff on without sweating it off. In summer, however, the time is shorter. I prefer to keep this as a fall-winter product.

I am unsure about the other shades, but the Transparent shade has a shimmer to it, so you will have a bit of sparkles on your face. Depending on the situation, this may be okay or not - I definitely prefer to wear something else if I am going to an interview, but I don't mind the sparkle if I am out with my friends or just around.

So, do I think it is worth it for $65? Personally, I will not be repurchasing it again. When I purchased it, I did not pay full price for it, so it is comparable to the rest of the products with a similar price tag. For me, the wear is not worth paying so much for it, especially since I found something that lasts me full 8 hours (YSL Pressed Powder). I will keep using this until I've used it up, but that's that.
