Beauty Product Reviews

Love Love Love! Great for oily skin!

I have never really been a fan of a certain brand of blush. Its a just a blush right? NO! I will not go back to other blushes! After using the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush I don't think I could. I have very oily skin and by the end of the day my blush always just seemed to dissolve away. Not this stuff! Great pigmentation and of course staying power. The only con would have to be the price. At $28 dollars from Ulta its the most money I've spent on a blush, BUT I will do it again! The pan seems fairly deep and as pigmented as it is I'm pretty sure it will last a good long while. Its rosy cheeks from here on out!

Read on to find out why I returned it!

First let me say that the majority of the eye shadows I have are in fact Urban Decay. I have always found them blend-able and pigmented. The Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV was really no different. I feel there is an interesting combination of neutral and non-neutral colors. I was not a fan of the curling mascara. The wand was a little sparsely populated for my tastes, but I could see how it could be liked by others. Loved the liner- great staying power and pigmentation - I will most likely seek it out when I need a new liner! However.... I believe that its not JUST about the product but the packaging as well. So the packaging looks pretty neat. Sturdy overall, but one word comes to mind gimmicky. Gimmicky to the point of not being practical. When I saw it in the store I knew it was large, but it wasn't until I got it home until I realized just how cumbersome it was. I have a fair amount of counter space to work with and yet it was still just obnoxious. I know that its supposed to be eye catching and edgy, but there comes a point where a product is nearly unusable. I would never take this entire pallet while traveling, which is fairly often for my husband and I. Whats the fun in that if I really like the product? To remedy this I feel like brands that want to make unusual packaging should make the area with the product a removable "mini" pallet. I was sad to return this pallet, because as I said I really liked the colors they included, but it just wasn't worth the hassle of the packaging its self.
