Beauty Role Model: Frida Kahlo

532

When it comes to unconventional beauty icons, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo has been the name on everybody’s lips for decades. Since her untimely death in 1954, Kahlo has lived on—not just through her captivating and haunting paintings, but also through her one-of-a-kind look.

Kahlo’s signature style was ahead of its time. Full brows, rosy blush applied high on the cheekbones, elaborate braided updos, and bold lips—she put all of it together in a way that celebrated her features, rather than concealing them. And that’s a beauty lesson we should all take to heart.

In celebration of Cinco De Mayo and one of Mexico’s most enduring beauty icons, we transformed model Lindsay into the artist using some of our favorite products.
